I have to admit that I was skeptical of VR because I didn't know alot of their music.  I bought front row tickets to the Phoenix AZ show because I wanted to see Alice in Chains so bad.  They did not dissapoint.  Then I figured, well, might as well use these seats to see Slash and Scott Wieland.  Wow!!!   They blew me away!  Velvet Revolver is no joke.  They are a supergroup that has beaten the odds with their second album.

Bottom line is, if you can make it to the last show, you should.  It is awsome!  This website is right, TWO OF ROCKS BEST BANDS on the same bill.  If I could have seen more than one show, I would have.  Thanks so much AIC and Velvet Revolver and also, Sparta for putting on such an awsome show.  You all are truely talented in every sense of the word!!!!    ROCK ON!!!!

The Tulsa OK show is Sold Out.  Then again, AIC should be able to sell out a capacity of  approx. 450 total and in Jerry's home court.  450 capacity sounds awfully small but that's what it says.  It'll sure be an intimate concert and those are the best.

It will hold about 2500

OH, cool, thanks for clearing that up nailer2006.  I guess on the net the 450 were seats only?  2500 still a nice intimate concert.  And dumb dumb ME; I should of known better when most of these smaller venues average around 2,000 capacity.  Thanks again.

I caught their gig in Albuquerque on the 25th of Septmeber. Great freakin' show! They played all the AIC classics. Favorites: Down in a whole, Would?, The Rooster etc. Great to see the guys together again. Layne would have been proud. Jerry's guitar was as moody and atmospheric as ever! Velvet Revolver kicked ass too! Vasoline stole the show for me and was worth the price of the tickets in and of itself! Catch these guys on tour....... DO IT!

A friend of mine has two tickets for the Atlanta show for sale. I was going to buy them but Layne won't be there. So why bother? Jerry let it go. And the rest of you guys get a life!

although i haven't had the opportunity to see a live show, i anxiously await the experience. it's been a true pleasure just knowing the guys are back in it.  thank you for your courage. i am also absolutely delighted that you have found a lead singer that was truly able to take the lead and stand.

it is very difficult to sing along on anyone of aic's songs without floating into the melodic style of layne, evenwhen i'm humming along i'm bellowing in his highs and lows right on que although not in key, what a range he possessed. nuff said.

next time your in NORFOLK, VA. i hope to see you.

I have to admit that though I simply love, love LOVE Alice in Chains, this new rendition is just not working.  Sure, I know...when someone's gone (dead gone) what else is left to do?  (I know that already)  I just can't get into Will & Jer singing together because it is NOT coming close to the genius that alice WAS!!  This isn't about ac/dc comparisons nor anything elseor not even about replacement.  I just don't think they've got it NOW.  Sure, their fairly good, but not even close to what AIC was.  I come here to say this not to be judged and to be told to go away; but I come here to painfully admit that as much as I would hope and love the band to continue; I just think it can't.  Not like this.  They gotta get their asses out there to record NEW stuff right away or go away.....because that will be the ONLY time that any fans of Alice;--WHO ARE THINKING LIKE ME--will be able to ever, EVER change their mind in believing that AIC made the right choice to continue with William.  I thought Will sang great for a tribute but NOT as a new lead singer.  He's talented but Jerry's made the wrong choice. Jerry can't be right all the time.  Will is EXCELLENT with Comes With the Fall.  Jerry needs to believe in himself enough to be "HIMSELF".....not slightly in the shadows of a lead singer.  Dont' get me wrong; Will and Jer are good (enough) I guess, But Jer & Layne were genius.....and ya can't do better than that.....so change it and make it different.  You can STILL sing the old Alice songs; their yours for christ sake.....but you can't revive "genius"...no one can!!!!

ABOVE, have you seen this band with Duvall?? Do you just not like the idea at all??? I can respect people who don't like this idea, but let everyone else enjoy it, that's all I'm saying.

HOW IS IT YOU'RE FEELING SO UNEASY?
HOW IS IT THAT I FEEL FINE?
LIFE REVEALS WHAT IS DEALT THROUGH SEASONS
CIRCLE COMES AROUND EACH TIME
I'VE BEEN BLESSED WITH EYES TO SEE THIS

i am a big rock and roll fan and love a/c and v/r  I am going this sunday and I can't wait.  I read all of the above comments.  I love rock period!  I know I will enjoy the show. Seeing a/c will not only be about the singing (we will miss Layne) but its also about the music and the other people in the band! You gotta know that the rest of the band was thinking that b/c Layne gone that people won't come. But they are going and they are enjoying the concert none the less.  I will report on my sunday show next week.

Artificial,
Yes..I saw them with Duvall already.  That is why I can make claim to my comment.  And, I didn't come here to put down anyone who is in favor.  I'm not trying to ruin it for others at all & that's NOT what my post said.  (re-read it if necessary.)  I respect your opinion & you say you respect mine; but then claim that I shouldn't "ruin it" for others?...huh?!!  Don't you think that maybe, just maybe, the band would want to know what "others" think too?!  This board can't just BLIND the band with only good comments.  And Artificial, don't you think that there are others out there that think like me?   And, how are the acoustic shows going....this time around, notice they didn't "sell out" within minutes or hours from the time they went on sale like 2006....doesn't that tell them something?  Maybe Layne IS more important to MOST people.  Jerry & Layne created the music together.  What one lacked the other made up for.  Layne DELIVERED those songs to make them sound the way they did.....and, not all writers can be actors....or lead singers.

I liked the concert.  Both AIC and VR did a good job.  Weiland's a little different.  Cross between Bowie and Jagger or something like that.  This is also the first time I saw Duvall.
I thought he did a good job.  The guys still play well together. But,  I can't honestly say that Duvall fits in good like Layne did but what can ya do.  I felt the music but the chemistry wasn't as good anymore.  (oh well, still a good show.  Is it enough. don't know.)

Chemistry will take time to develop between Jerry and William as far as songwriting goes.I will go to every show by AIC in Atlanta and buy every album while this is taking place!Just like I did while Layne was alive!

Okay, cool, don't want to argue with anyone anymore. Layne's music was very important to me, but he chose heroin over ALL else. What can you do??? I just don't happen to think that it's a crime to carry on with this band, maybe other people feel differently, but I know it won't stop them!! Here's to a new album in 2008!! Rock on, BLEED THE FREAK!!

MY CUP RUNNETH OVER
LIKE BLOOD FROM A STONE
THESE STAND FOR ME
NAME YOUR GOD AND BLEED THE FREAK
I'D LIKE TO SEE HOW YOU ALL WOULD BLEED FOR ME

Ok man. well, I have to kind of agree with Above. Duval is good, yes.. but he does not have that imense harsh yet smooth thing that came out of Staleys mouth. The shaking of my emotions is not there when duval opens his mouth.. as much. the songs still have enough power to carry them through. if duval is staying, we have to give him a chance with the new album. He is almost too positive, or the songs are too personal to be represented by another and thats not his fault. Has this guy been through a lot.. you almost need someone who is suffering but has escapism through music to sing these songs.
I have seen them twice live now (in new incarnation) London Astoria was amazing. Las Vegas, good. Velvet are fronted by two premadonas. Stone temple were great.
But when Layne came on stage hanging on that net, dirt tour. my gosh

However the abovementioned sounds I am extremely gratefull to hear these songs live again with at least 2 original members of chains. Will go to shows. will buy LP's, just bought new tshirt :)
most powerfull rock act ever.
