How come Alice in Chains rocks out more than any other band. I don't even mean right now. I mean of all time. I used to be in a Nirvana Cover Band. Kurt is the King of Rock and Roll. But Chains are just pure energy.... .... .... ....

Alice in Chains should hold on to ALL their fans, not just try to obtain new young ones.     Management believes that the younger generation basically generates more money ,but the guys aren't getting any younger so the fan treatment of all ages  should always be considered.  

Maybe no one will admit it outwardly because Alice in Chains always says they make music for themself and don't care about who likes it....but I disagree for 2 main reasons:  1. The 12 year span ----- 2. The new singer.  The pressure and anxieties have gotta be racing inside this group when the new music gets released.....and for good reason.  I'm not saying they aren't talented; I'm just saying that there's just soooo much pressure to do good if not better than before.....afterall....their 'before' stuff was awesome....

There is a HUGE, HUGE element missing to this band without Layne.  Fans can argue all day about the ratio of creativity between band members...but...that doesn't really matter to most people.  Reading bios and looking up the history of these musicians are only done by a handful of fans especially if you consider the big picture...say for example, if a new cd goes double platinum.  You cannot discredit the charisma of a lead singer.  The sound and look of a lead singer can make or break a band.  It's pretty horrible but true....that's just the way this world is...like it or not.

To Denver:  I don't agree that aic is a joke but I will say that Layne and William are two worlds apart when it comes to charisma.  William's voice is strong but it is not as rare and unique sounding as Layne's by no means......and that's unfortunate because that quality that Layne had will break this band moving on the way they decided to move on.  

****AND, hopefully William will NOT copy Layne's voice or way of singing because if he does, he and the band are really screwed!!!!!*******
