    iamgolden:
I am so bummed, I had $300 sniped in for the Jar of Flies tshirt and someone must have done the same but w/a higher limit and got it for $305.  I just know that shirt smells like Jerry, and now I'll never get a sniffCrying

aww golden i feel your pain honey but maybe next time (i'm sure he'll do this again - it's been such a success!) they'll be something that you'll want even more and it will be yours.  that is unless of course i want it too - cos I ain't be told what to do by my husband again - that's for sure!!!

That's an awesome amount of money that Jerry raised hope he's feeling proud, 'cos we all are ain't we? 3 cheers for Jerry

Good luck with all the posting and packing Gwen, hope you've got plenty of bubble wrap

What do you think about the Get Born Again movie?
    Jerry: Yes. It’s fucking horseshit.

Re: Jerry Cantrell's Closet Auction for Charity

*waves* hi folks!  i guess I am the proud owner of Jerry's Boogie T-shirt!  I can't stop bouncing and it's even nearly a day later.  Big Smile

It was probably the one shirt that was up for auction that I could definitely remember seeing him in on several occasions (and often wondering, "now why is he wearing a shirt that says 'Boogie'?"  i didn't have the slightest clue back then what it was.)  Now, if he would just have donated that sleeveless flamey Central shirt, that would have been the ultimate for me because he wore/wears that thing A LOT!

I love the idea of framing the shirt with a pic like someone else mentioned.  I know i've seen pics with him in the Boogie shirt but have yet to find one that's of any quality.  If anyone happens to have one I'd it if you'd post it for me!

     Thanks guys!

Re: Jerry Cantrell's Closet Auction for Charity

I would consider making a substantial donation if one of the band members would sign a Talkamine guitar that I bought for my husband's Christmas present!! Last year I was able to find a Jerry Cantrell autographed pic guard on a SAMICK guitar and it blew my husband away!! How could I ever top that you ask? If I could get Jerry to sign a Talkamine acoustic for him!! IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS OR CAN POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, I WOULD REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!Cool

Re: Jerry Cantrell's Closet Auction for Charity

Following from Blabbermouth.net on Jerry's Closet Auction:

"ALICE IN CHAINS Guitarist's Closet Auction for Charity A 'Massive Success' - Nov. 28, 2007
Twenty items from ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell's closet went on the block ealier in the month and in ten days close to $5,700 was raised. All proceeds from fans in Australia, Japan, Belgium, Canada, England and the USA will go to MusiCares and the Layne Staley Fund.

Fans who would love to help support the Layne Staley Fund and missed out on the auction can visit the AliceInChains.com store and order their own Layne Staley 2008 calendar. Money from the sales of the calendars will go towards the Therapeutic Health Services in Seattle, WA to assist in heroin recovery for local musicians.

For more information on the charities, visit www.musicares.com.

Cantrell recently told MTV.com that ALICE IN CHAINS is working on new material and hopes to have an LP recorded by the end of 2008.

"Definitely possibly," Cantrell responded when asked whether fans could expect an ALICE record next year. "I don't think you can put a time limit on it, because first we have to come up with a record we're satisfied with, and I think we can do that."

He continued, "The body of stuff that's been coming out so far — all the riffs and song ideas — are really cool. It's really aggressive and everything ALICE was, but it's moved on into a different thing too. It's [indicative of the] transformation of this band. The dynamic is different, and it should be. But Mike, Sean and I, we're still here. We're still a big part of how this band sounds. The elements that remain and the element that William [DuVall, new singer] brings to the band are powerful things. I couldn't put a time on it, but I can tell you that [writing songs] is what we are working toward. We're gathering material and doing other business to help this band move forward." "

Way to go Jerry and Alice in Chains.com!!!

. . .And, GRRRREAT news that the guys are planning on working on an LP next year!!!

Don't mean to duplicate threads cause I posted on the Ladies thread, but felt inclined to post a picture of Jerry's Vest on the actual Jerry Cantrell's Closet thread, too.  Hope you don't mind.  As I previously promised, here's the pic of Jerry's vest that I won:

Thanks again Jerry and AiC.com for this auction.  It was great fun and so glad that it went to such great causes!

Re: Jerry Cantrell's Closet Auction for Charity

Thanks PL!!!  For now, the inscription reads:

    JERRY CANTRELL

    Alice in Chains

    Double-sided Vest

Not too creative, but I plan on changing out the brass plate with something a bit more imaginative and inspirational after the holiday rush is over.  Any suggestions?  . . .gotta be clean though! LOL  Thanks again!
