What's up guys, new to the forum, my name is Matt, I'm the lead vocalist/lead guitarist/co-songwriter/engineer/producer (you name it...etc...) for my group Grey Haven, originally from Austin, TX and recently re-located to Los Angeles, CA. I decided to get on here cause AIC is one of the biggest influences on my playing. Growing up I was fascinated with the beauty and darkness of Jerry and Layne's compositions and delivery. That's something I've been trying to incorporate into Grey Haven over the seven years we've been together. Don't get me wrong, not trying to sound like them, or rip them off, but trying to incorporate that darkness and beauty into our own music, which centers around a crafty songwriting sensability, Bonham-esque powerhouse drums and layered guitars underneath melodic vocals, delivering a cryptic message of the world that surrounds and saturates us all.
So if you have a spare moment, which you probably do considering you're surfing this forum...check out my band, add us on myspace if you like the tunes, and say hello.
