We unloaded our piece of shit Ford SUV and got a little Subaru.  I LOVE it!  We were checking out a Smart Car yesterday.    Probably not a family car. . . . .

Death is all around. After burying one friend not too long ago, I have got two other friends that are battling for their lives. I do not think one is going to make it, he has been going downhill fast with a brain tumor. Another buddy(also cancer) called me from his hospital bed last night, he is in a real bad spot but hopefully can defy some odds and get back in the game.

Awww... I'm sorry to hear this, Pitts.  My prayers are with you and your friends.  I know how you are feeling... We just buried my grandfather who passed away from pneumonia.  It was both beautiful and horrible to be with him and watch life slip away till he took his last breath.  I was grateful to be with him in his last moments... at least he knew he wasn't alone.  We were very close.  My best friend is dying of Lupus, so I truly feel what you are going through.  It's painful knowing there isn't much you can do but keep hope alive and pray.  The 5th of this month was the 6 yr anniversary of my b/f's passing.  It's not something you'd wish on anyone and it doesn't get any easier on the soul.  God bless, my friend.  He's with you now and make every moment count and support is what he needs.  But you know this.  Prayers are with you all.

Thanks for the support Jerryfav.  Sorry to hear about your grandfather and buddy with Lupus, that disease can wreak some multi body system havoc. The b/f had to be a young man. Sad I have had so much death around me over the years that it makes me somewhat hesitant to get to know newer people all that well, but that is probably not a healthy mind set, it is just part of the cycle. We are lucky in the first place that we crossed paths with some of these cool people.

I hate my co-worker.  I swear I will have to work with her forever unless I sell my soul to the devil.

You are very welcome.  It helps to have people to talk with and who understand and give their support in these times.  I wish all the best to you and your friend.  My b/f was young indeed.  Irony hit me two days ago... A man I dated over 10 yrs ago committed suicide.  I didn't go to the funeral today.  I just couldn't do it and now I'm feeling guilty.  But I'd rather remember him the way I knew him...  It happens and is inevitable somehow.  I've always felt life is a learning experience, then we move on to where we truly belong.  We never really die, we just move up a level of consciousness.  And yes, it is part of the cycle.  Hold on and be strong my friend.  Enjoy all the time you have... That's a mssg for everyone.  Peace!  *dee*

I got hideously drunk last night and I'm not supposed to drink full stop. I was doing so well, I'm so angry with myself!!!!!!!! And I was congratulating myself on how its been 2 years since my last cigarette.....the way I stink this morning you'd think someone had come in in the night and rubbed me down with ash. I stink. *Does not pay to be smug*

The optimistic thread is 2 pages behind this one. Life is pants.

*Pat on the back*  No worries my friend... I did the same the other night.  I hardly drink and it got the best of me.  I am one of those who kicks themselves around for days (literally) after I have a night of drinking.  Talk about down on yourself!  I did that for myself and others.  lol  Not to mention, I smelled like expensive perfume scarred with ciggie smoke and icky liquor.  I guess we are just creatures with habits that are temp or long-term.  We're only human.  I'm completely over my self-humiliation... No worries, you're still a great gal.  And... you are not smug.  No worries!  ((((hugs))))
