FlutterGrrrl: KashmirKim: I have another brilliant bit of Britishness for you. The Royal Mail provide a track your parcel/letter online service for their recorded deliveries - nothing out of the ordinary there I hear you say... but this one is different. Once you've entered your tracking number, you are kindly informed that "your parcel cannot be tracked until it has arrived at it's destination and has been signed for". How bloody pointless is that????
In the post today I recieved a christmas card. Gotta love the Royal Mail.

Re: BLOG: FlutterGrrrl 3/6/08
Hey Flutter Girl, All you talk about is the weather huh, sounds like my kind of place. And yes if the sun is not shining for long periods of time you will hear me complaining too. I admitt I love me some sunshine, I just don't mind the tempurture when it is sunny. There is just certain things I love about each season, when I lived in the warmer climates, like Texas, Arkansaw, or even Florida. I found my self seriously missing home, where the seasons are more defined. I love the hot and the cold, maybe it's just me. I don't know. A couple weeks back on our local news. They had a familly from I think the Phillipines on playing in the snow for the first time, having snowball fights, making snowman and snow angels. It was a joyfull sight for anyone viewing. It just made me think how lucky I was, that I had thousands of experiances like that over the years, as a child and with my children. Sometimes it takes seeing something like that before you really give it much thought. All I know is that family in the snow for the fist time brightend my day... As far as the postal tracking thing goes, anymore I just pray the package makes it there in one piece, you won't know that untill it arives anyway. So what is the point of any of that?

In the post today I recieved a christmas card. Gotta love the Royal Mail. This thing reminded me of something that happened to me when I was living in London. I put a letter in those so British red letter boxes but as soon as the letter hit the bottom of the thing I realised I needed that letter back cuz I had fucked up Big Time (and it was work!!!)..I needed that letter back. So I thought "I'll wait to the post man to come and get it and then will just go through those letters and will get mine back"..only the postman had just come by (cause it does say on the letter box the times the guy comes round to collect the mail) so I thought "I'd better call the Royal Mail!"..So I do...."Yes Hello there, I was wondering if you could help me. I have just dropped a letter in the letter box here in London SW10 and realised that in fact that letter should not leave, how can I get it back? Is there any chance I could wait for the post man to come by and get my letter back?"...."Well from the moment the letter hits the Royal Mail Boxes it actually belongs to the Royal Mail so I'm sorry but the only thing you could do is write to the Secretary of the Queen and ask that your letter is sent back to you".. Now how the fuck is the letter written to the Secretary of the Queen going to reach her/him before my letter which I have just posted reaches the bank??? Eventually it all went well but I shat myself for a few weeks and hated the Royal Mail!

Re: BLOG: FlutterGrrrl 3/6/08
I can't believe this, but I'm going to talk about the weather again!!! So we're having the "worst storms of the winter" in the UK at the moment and fuck me is it windy? Monday morning I got up at 5.30 looked out the window and thought "there won't be any trains today", but I fought my way to the station in galeforce winds, just so I can make it look like I tried to get to work. Guess what? They were running fine! W.E.I.R.D. It was proper scary weather though and being on 19th floor we can see right across London. There were no planes in the sky, and at time we couldn't see across the river, but the London Eye (that massive big wheel) was still going round - WTF? What person in their right mind is gonna get on a massive big wheel in 90mph winds??? Crazy tourists! Anyway I told my bitch of a boss I was leaving early to make sure I got home for an appointment cos they said the trains were running an hour late and guess? They were all on time!!!! It's still crazy weather out there today, but I need to go to the post office, so I'm risking life and limb once more. And we've come full circle and we're back to the Royal Mail - Tiz they're all fucking jobsworths and that was total bullshit about writing to the Queen's secretary! I had to send an important CD to Dallas for one of my collegues on Tuesday so I called DHL for an overnight badger (btw badger is the word I insert when I can think of the right word) and he comes running over to me and says "hey my wide says to use Parcelforce" (part of the Royal Mail) to which my reply was "Fuck off - this is imporant!" Travis I loved that story about the family in the snow. can I use you my American friends - does every news programme have that "and finally..." heartwarming item? I think that is such a great idea, 'cos you've just sat through 20 mins of stories about war, rape, murder and financial doom, so by that point you're ready to chuck yourself off the nearest tall building - and that always brings it back round and gives you a smile. I live in London so it's all shit and we very rarely get any "nice news". Every week a teenager is stabbed to death here and they say we have a gang culture on the streets to rival L.A. now, the difference being that over there the members are usualy 21+ and our kids get into this shit as young as 12. And finally... The sun just came out to prove that the weather is totally schizophrenic at moment.

Re: BLOG: FlutterGrrrl 3/6/08
Annoyed of South East London writes... Why the fuck were there workmen digging a hole across the road from me all night? Seriously there was a digger and a pnuematic drill going from 8.30pm and they were still at it when I left for work 6.15. I am very tired *yaaaaawn* Then some annoying bitch sat next to me on the train and decided to sharpen her eye pencil with a razor blade - safe! - and all the shavings landed on me. She could not have given less of a shit as I flicked them off my coat. She was a big lady too so when he was done with the slap, she sat back and pinned me into the corner so I couldn't move for the entirity of the journey - meh! But the sun is shining and I saw a beautiful pink, orange and lilac sunrise - sometimes it's worth getting up as early as I do. I thought about taking a photo, but my alarm didn't go off and I was already late... Just made arrangements for drinks after work tonight... hope it's not a late one *yaaaawn* Today I'm not going to let my boss get to me and I'm going to do tons of work and smile at everyone. so what am I doing messing about on here???

Re: BLOG: FlutterGrrrl 3/6/08
hahah Fi you make me laugh. i love reading this stuff. yeah, i've learned when things aren't going right you laugh at them as hard as that is. then what evers going on that day in the out spheres that making everything piss you off it will stop messing with ya. so the more something annoys me. teh more i try to find the laugh in it. though sometimes thats really hard to do like i said. but 6:15? com on? in the states they are only allowed to do work on highways in the night. but i've heard some buzz saws at 8:00 am myself and then i start to dream about running to the window and screaming loud over that friggin noise to tell them all to shut the hell up cause it's 8 in the moring. haha. well keep thinking bout the drinky treats you will be enjoying later with some good friends. and good attitude saying you gonna do a lot of work and not let your bitch of a boss get to you. i'm gonna do a lot of stuff that i have been procrastinating for ever myself today. it is a gorgeous day. Spring time is almost here! cheers!

Re: BLOG: FlutterGrrrl 3/6/08
Fi, first of all congrats on getting your own blog! This seems to be the thing to do lately here... Sorry you're feeling so blah today - I think we all have days like that. I believe it's the hormone's unfortunately - tee hee! I always put on some awesome music or watch a really comical movie and that really helps. Saw the Wedding Crashers again last night - definitely a classic... Worse scenario go shopping! That usually helps me the most! ***hugs***

Re: BLOG: FlutterGrrrl 3/6/08
Awww thanks Linda - you're right it is hormones! Everyone at work is scared of me today - awesome! As a result the office is like a morgue, it's nice to know that I'm usually the life and soul of the place. I'm plugged into my myspace playlist and if anyone gets too close to my desk I'll start growling. My boss just called tried to pick on me, but I wouldn't have any of it - bitch! The day is not about to get any better either, so I'm hoping tomorrow will be the turning point, but I won't hold my breath! Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my fellow Irish people (I'm half not full).

I will never meet Slash...
...of this I am quiet certain. I will however continue to make a tit out of myself in front of Duff McKagan in hotel lobbies around the world. That is a given I had another moment of happiness on the train today. I was the crazy grinning bird trying not to sing to "Sunshine" as I watched the sun do battle with a big black cloud, despite the fact that the word minging was invented for me . I went to bed at 8am today after picking up a £300 ($600) bill in the Met Bar (celeb haunt in swanky Mayfair hotel). I'm still drunk, I probably stink and I was a chav terrorist on my way home - rock and fucking roll bebe! Am I making any sense? No? Good! That's the plan right now. So it's been fucking snowing here all Easter, today however there is beautiful sunshine, I am wearing the biggest pair of Jackie O's you've ever seen from the minute I left my hotel room. I would've done this regardless of the weather as I look like death and didn't want to have another Duff moment checking out. It's getting embarressing! I have just seen Velvet Revolver's last 2 ever London shows [:'(] and last night I feel like I witnessed a bit of rock n roll history. You'd never know they were a band that have just broken up and I never thought I'd say this about Scott Weiland, but the man's a fucking pro! And despite the fact they ain't friends no more, he still clearly has a massive respect for those guys. It was humbling to watch him blissing out to Slash's bluesy solo. I hate it when people say cliches likes this, but... They put 110% in and gave us a serious fucking rock show! When Slash started playing "Wish You Were Here" I think the whole of Brixton peed their pants just a little bit! My mate and I were total geeks too - we totally expected some diva/rockstar/arsehole behaviour, but when Scott was sat drinking in The Met Bar, we approached him and asked if he would mind having his photo taken with us and he was the nicest guy! Honestly could not have been nicer to us. Anyway £300, 2 bottles of champagne, a bottle of vodka and a whole pack of fags later *cough, splutter - oops was that a lung?* My room mate and I decided that as we had to check out in 3 hours we should get some sleep in our 4-star swanking park-view upgraded massive hotel room. We did, but you wouldn't know it to look at me! She's still in her 20's and looked feckign gorgeous this morning - I look exactly what I am: a thirtysomething lush after a 2 day vodka bender. I can't believe I made it home without puking - 'tis no mean feat On that note, I'll shut the fuck up and throw myself into the shower. Oh and also to my Angels: I know I owe most of you return messages and I will get back to you after this message:
Love ya!

Re: BLOG: FlutterGrrrl 3/6/08
FlutterGrrrl:Travis my dear, you must understand something about us British: Our favourite topic of conversation is the weather, and you will also find that all we do is moan about it. "It's too hot" 'cos we don't have a/c in our homes. "It's too cold" - cos I don't have decent heating in mine. "I wish the sun would shine" and when it does we go back to number 1. I have another brilliant bit of Britishness for you.
LOL us Irish like complaining (oh I mean 'talking') about the weather... we're never happy with what Mother Nature gives us! Oh and that tracking thing is the same here, it makes no sense coz ya can't track it!!! I thought it was just typically 'Irish' but yee Brits are the same! LOL
