    Mark Lanegan Band

Not sure if anybody has started a post about Lanegan, but I think Bubblegum is a killer album.  Anybody else much of a lanegan fan?

Hey, PigCharmer!  I merged your post with the other Mark Lanegan thread that was previously made....

That's awesome!  That album gives me goosebumps.  Not sure the name, but the tune that says "will you put on your long white dress..."  is kinda scary.  Death?  Drugs?  Have you heard Isobell Cambell with Mark Lanegan-The Ballad of The Broken Seas?  Its good too.  Isobell Cambell's voice is really good and she plays alot of different instruments.  Lanegan's voice with hers is awesome.  They even do a  Hank Williams Sr. cover song and its cool.

    Re: Mark Lanegan Band

I love all Langans solo stuff, his early albums are almost country but brilliant. His partner in crime in those days was a bloke called Mike Johnson, who's released some cracking solo stuff in the same vein. And he's got a great voice as well. I've been lucky enough to see mark loads of times live, and, if you get the chance, don't miss it.

He's guested on some great stuff, but my favourite track is from 'Mondo Generator's 'A Drug Problem that never existed'. The track is called 4 corners, written by Mondo main man Nick Oliveri, and is a sort of duet between Nick and Mark. Well Nick screaming, and  Mark singing . Spine tingling on record, and awesome live.

Mark Lanegan is simply amazing. I've got his first two solo albums, Bubblegum and both Screaming Trees anthologies.

Long Gone Day got me started, probably like most everyone else. The man is an underrated talent for sure.

If he would pay more attention to U.S. fans.  Seems like he is always doing something in Europe.  I'd like to see him in a small bar with like 100 seats.  But not full.

Agreed.  An intimate setting would be mind blowing.  I'd travel fairly far for that.

I love Lanegan's voice! I particularly like his work with QOTSA but I reckon they should have included him on more tracks! His voice is just totally unique in my opinion, I love the 'gruff' tone to it.

I've downloaded Bubblegum yesterday but haven't had the chance to listen to it properly yet. I've heard like 2 tracks so far and theyre pretty cool..

*singing in the lowest, scruffiest, cigerette ruined voice possible*   Did you call for the night porter?
You smell the blood running warm
I stay close to this frozen border, so close I can hit it with a stone
Now something crawls right up my spine
That I always got to follow
    Turn out the lights
Don't see me drawn and hollow
    Just blood running warm
No one needs to tell you that
There's no use for ya here anymore
    And where are your friends?
    They've gone away
It's a different world, they left you to this...

    This song gives me goosebumps.
