    Ok, when the team wins a game, they get two points. If they lose they get nothing. However, if they lose in overtime/shootout they get one point. Obviously the more points you have, the higher your seed will be come playoff time. The top teams in the six divisions automatically get the first three seeds in their conference.

    Re: Hockey people

    The Pittsburgh Penquins with Sydney Crosby Jordan Stall and Evgeni Malkin leading the offence along with Sergei Gonchar and Ryan Whitney on the blueline and solid netminding by Marc Andre Fleury in net, the penquins have to be one of the favourites to win the east.

    fuck no! i hate any team from cleveland. i'm a cincy guy! i hate the sox too but i'd rather see the sox in the series than the indians.

    Ha!  Thought you were rooting for them since they're from Ohio...but I guess Columbus is your Berlin Wall to the teams up north.

    I'd draw this out for you Sludge, but here's the best diagram:

    win = 2 points

    regulation loss = 0 points

    overtime loss/shootout loss = 1 point

    But damn, I miss the tied games in hockey.  Separated them from the other sports.Sad

    thanks, that clears things up. so points is more important than your actual win-loss record.

    Yep.  And even the Cleveland Rock and Roll HOF kinda sucks.  Fucking Black Sabbath/Ozzy getting in years after their footnote in music history is a fucking shame.

    Well, we fired our coach! Our GM is gonna' be the interem. We play the Rangers tonight, who started our losing streak, back in the play-offs last year. 10 losses in a row, going back to the playoffs last year! AJC (local paper) says we may go for an experienced coach (Pat quinn is the rumor). Mike
    The original "Rooster" from the RR board!

    What a turnaround for Quinn if he's hired.  Going from the so called hockey capital of the world to Atlanta.  I dunno what Atlanta's the capital of...maybe Olympic bombings?
