    remickulous:

What a great show and overall experience. First the opening guy had the crowd laughing with a joke and pretty good guitar playing, He said that he worked for the band over a year now and asked if he could make a fool of himself and open the show, not bad. Then the warm up band came out and rocked 7 songs of their own. I was second row standing in front of their bass player. She was wearing a short skirt and didn't always have her legs crossed, nice view. Finally Alice came out and tore that place a new one. They were so good, talking to the crowd, joking with each other. Jerry's guitar playing is so incredible, every note like you remember it and then some, especially on Nutshell he threw in a little extra. William was just awesome, last nite of the tour, tired or whatever He gave 110% and sounded right on. Mike was having so much fun you could tell, toasting his beer bottle to the crowd and playing short segments of songs you would like to hear. He started to play Rotten Apple between Sludge Factory and Love Hate Love, we all wanted more of it but a taste was all we got. Sean was laid back and giving the skins a beating, i don't know much about drumming, but there is something about His style that is captivating. The set list goes like this,

    Don't Follow

     Heaven Beside You

    Brother

    I Can't Remember

    Nutshell

    Killer Is Me

    Angry Chair

    Sludge Factory

    Love Hate Love

    No Excuses

    Down In A Hole

    Got Me Wrong

    curtains

    squeeze box

    Would

    Rooster

Same as all the other shows. But that wasn't all. I heard that they were going to go after the show to a downstairs club called Body English and watch some friends in a band called Metal Skool. They were covering tunes from Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Scorpions stuff like that. Jerry and Sean did show up and they asked Jerry to come up and jamb with them. When Jerry got up there they handed him a guitar and He begged Sean to come up with Him. They played Man In The Box to which the crowd went crazy. Jerry didn't sing, but He had plenty of help from the other guys. The song was flawless as usual, so cool that they did that and iI was there for it

And if that wasn't enough, I was able to follow Jerry from that club outside to get his signature and shake his hand. The only thing I had for Him to sign was a blank check from my wallet, He laughed and said ok. He offered to sign my shirt but I was wearing 3 AIC tee-shirts and didn't want to ask Him to sign all 3. So then I went over to the Viva Las Vegas inside the Hard Rock and found Mike and His manager sitting in there. He signed my blank check also and shook his hand, we talked about the fires in CA that are close to both are homes. His manager was a little uneasy about the blank check, so she wrote VOID in the dollar amount. His manager was so nice and helpful. She told me that Sean would be right back and I should get his signature on the blank check too. When he got back she pointed me out to Him and as He was signing my check, He asked How much to make it out for. We had a good laugh and I shook his hand saying thanks.

After all that I asked Mikes manager if William was around, she thought he was in his room and might be down later. I sat there at my own table watching everyone have a good time and a hour later here came William. Again Mikes cool manager brought William over to my table to sign my check and explain that she wrote VOID on it. We shook hands and I told him what a great job he was doing.

Overall it was one of the best nights of my life that I won't soon forget. Everyone surrounding the band was so nice and helpful. I have everyones signature and I shook hands with them all. I can't wait to hear something new in the future if it is meant to be.

Thanks so much Alice In Chains for such a special night. All of you guys are number one in my book. "I wish I could just hug you all....but I'm not gonna". Your the best, lets do it again real soon.

NICE JOB on the review, that was fun to read......and you scored all those sigs, too Yes

LOL, only a manager would think of writing "void" on a check  LOL ~ and only Sean would think of something funny to say about what he was signing LOL

Sounds like a great experience for ya Yes

The Vegas show was amazing. AIC has a certain intensity that no one can match. William has some awful big shoes to fill, but he is doing it very well. He is a brave soul. It is such a trip and a rush when everyone is on the same page singing the same words, sometimes I just like to watch. We spend so much time everyday and throughout our lives opposing and fighting and struggling against each other. Then when we go to an awesome and amazing show preformed by some very intense artist, somehow we all get on the same page....sniff, sniff....its a beautiful thing....Geeked
