Re: New York Second Show Reviews
Oh snap! You have to get that song. There's some good parts in there that showcase his singing ability. How can I describe it? The best I can say is that it's not like his usual stuff. It's kinda soft/slow. The closest thing I've heard to it is that song Settling Down. In fact,I need to go buy some Cantrell. lol PunkyLunky:I looooooove Angel Eyes. Damn.
It's a tie between Angel Eyes and My Song (different album, but I like it) for me. Those are the ones I always want to hear, besides Locked On.

From that album yeah. I'm no long time listener either. I just heard all those tracks (excluding the three you quoted) in December. Hell, I've never seen his videos until I found them on Youtube. lol

Cool, so neither of us are knowledgeable in his solo stuff. At least we know Jerry's work with the band that this website bears name to. Now, i would like to announce this: FUCKING A! REUNITE SOUNDGARDEN! (I know, has nothing to do with anything typed above, but at least it continues this thread, long after the two nights.)

Re: New York Second Show Reviews
Hum... I love his solo work. It does sound like Jerry, but he takes more chances doing some different stuff, trying new effects and all... Compositions are different among themselves too... I feel like he put on a more sensitive side of himself, expressing feelings in a darkless way than with AiC. And ALL of the songs are really good... I mean, I find them to be REALLY GOOD. He is definately one of my favorites, either as a songwriter as a musician. I got Buggy Depot and Degradation Trip recently, and it made me very happy. One thing: I wish songwriters could be happier with their lives, you know? Cause you have to go through a lot of stuff to write a good dark song... And it aches too much. Jerry, we want you to be happy! :D with each and every aspect of your life! Bye everyone, have a nice one. Alex

Re: New York Second Show Reviews
^^^It sure is a departure from his real dark, pessimistic view on life. I guess Jerry just wanted to show his audience and critics that he does have a positive, humorous look on life, which was already shown as Nona Weisbaum, the hottest chick on earth who doesn't exist anymore, but on a hard-to-find DVD (excluding the ones that have the Nona Tapes with the "Essential" album).

Wow it's been a while!!! Been sooo busy!! Nice to hear from you again Siren. Good to see this page is still active!!! I (of course) have all of Jerry's work (lol...no surprise there)...it's pretty amazing shit and the first time I heard it I knew it was Jerry...so beautiful and somewhat dark...not like Alice I say, but still pretty dark....he pourred his heart and soul into it and it took him some time to write...kind of like naked soul Jerry/// (it must be even hotter than the naked flesh Jerry)..anyway, I love everything!!! So how many of you guys are going to the AIC tribute concert?? Too freakin' busy to even think about going...would love to though!!! Kam, if I can't make it i can't wait to hear how it went....wait...is it passed yet????

Re: New York Second Show Reviews
InLoveWithAIC4Ever:Flutterrrr my love, I haven't heard from ya...you ok??
Ok I've been BAD and neglecting the board - ten "Hail Jerry's" and an "Our Riff Lord" for me! Glad to see you're keeping this bad boy alive 5 months after the shows people Those photos of the "soccer" game are well freaky to me. Vinne Jones is a really famous footballer and I never thought I'd see a picture of him and Jer together - too weird. If you have Deg Trip vols 1&2 you will agree that album is soooo dark and disturbing. In the liner notes he's quoted as saying "Throughout the process of making this record, I often wondered at times whether I was insane or not. Sitting here and thinking back on it now, I probably had my moments."
I think the lyrics of that album are so soul baring, they're often so stark morbid and self depreciating it makes me want to cry. I think that's probably why I have a monumental crush on him, he isn't ashamed to let us know what it's like to be him or how he feels and clearly at that time it was pretty wretched for him. Ok I'm caught up lets talk shit again How are you my darlings...coov, inlove..? and hello to aicgirl, glad you've joined the party
What do you think about the Get Born Again movie? Jerry: Yes. It’s fucking horseshit.

Re: New York Second Show Reviews
Hey Rifugium -- this is not the right thread, but I was just looking at your sig and it reminded me.... one of my kids' friends (age 16) got the Opeth "O" tattooed on his upper arm this weekend... it looks INCREDIBLE. Beautiful with the curly-q's, etc... it's about 4 inches in diameter.. it looks great.
