Now that this thread is in the blog section, I don't check it as often. Sorry, everyone, for letting it get so boring as to talk about sports.

    Re: SLUDGE'S WORLD

so today i woke to a scare (to say the least). my fratic wife woke me up and told me my son's school teacher had called and said that he had a seizure. i jumped outta bed and drove down there. when i arrived the ambulance had just got there. anyways i went  into the classroom and there he was lying on the floor unconscious with drool coming out of his mouth. i just broke down and started crying like a litte girl. anyways the paramedic said that he had a fever and that's what most likely caused it. he had a sudden spike in his body temperature, and he said that this was common. he said after they seize they're body is just exausted and they could be out anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple of hours.

so i carried him out to the ambulance and rode with him to the childrens hospital where the wife and my daughter met us. anyways he started waking up by the time we got to the pital and the doc ended up saying it was due to the high spike fever and they get 2-3 kids a week. he had a temp of 102 when we got there. anyways everything turned out alright but i hope that shit never happens again. it scared the living hell outta me. i just can't get that picture of him laying there on the floor in his classroom out of my head.

    scary shit!

    Re: SLUDGE'S WORLD

thanks! he still a has a fever but i think he'll be fine. the doc did say that when they have a seizure when they get a fever it raises the chances of happening again like 20%. he said it's common for children under the age of 6. i wish i would've known that before i nearly had a breakdown in his school.

Oh MAN.  How scary, Sludge!  I would have freaked OUT.

I've heard of that happening due to high fever, but it never happened to my boys.  Dang, I can't even imagine what a frightening sight you had to see.

    Soooo glad everything's ok!!
