It's only evey once in a blue moon, when a band comes with a frontman, who chills you to the bone, haunting voice, menacing glare and over-all brilliance. Ian Curtis. Kurt Cobain, but my fav has to be Layne. He will forever be a legend and Alice In Chains, with or without him, will forever be.... rock gods.

    Re: Memories of Layne

My favourite memories of Layne really come down to him just goofing around in front of the camera. He had such an infectious personality that he could truly make anyone smile and laugh. I would've thoroughly enjoyed sitting around and having a conversation with him while playing some video games since he couldn't get enough of them.

    boggy:
These stories are all really great to read. I can't wait for the day that an authorized, authentic, respectful biography that will  focus on the HUMAN BEING named Layne Staley. Everyone that was touched by this legend will be wearing a smile. The press trashed his art while he was alive. His fans have cherished it.....always. His art and his memory will grow with time. It will continue to touch alot of people. Only the great ones can create such a gift like this.

What do you mean the press trashed his art?  I nver heard that.

    Re: Memories of Layne

The media  never appreciated what he did. The word drugs and "H" were always the main point of any article they wrote about him. He was talented. But you never read any long articles about that. Instead of being appreciated for being a great artist & muscian, they constantly called him out for being an addict. That sucks. You can read all the  news articles and you will find a common theme. What art? His music. The man painted beautiful pictures of very painful things that most people won't speak about to millions of people.
