Re: The 7th Annual Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit Concert

    welllll......

I reckon we'll have people on a budget - so something cheap and cheerful is probably the go (perhaps under $20 for an Entree as a guide)

We'll probably have vegetarians....so somewhere that has at least a few vego options beyond salad!

It should have some sort of buzz to it - without being so loud we can't hear each other...

Central - needs to be downtown, or Queen Anne...

We'll need to be able to make a reservation given there will be a group of us - so walk in's ony isn't really an option.

I've never been to Seattle - so I've put the word out for advice and so far I've had people suggest

    Mama's Mexican Kitchen,

    Steelhead Diner

    Taphouse Grill

    Cutter's

    Sazerac

    Black Bottle

Are any of these decent? I'd be interested to hear what you suggest...

Wow!  I was really considering getting to this event.  Now you all are making it more appealing!!  Just got back from Seattle last Tuesday.  What a blast!!  Please post if you find out when tickets go on sale.

    Cup,

I found the following that is a great search site:

     http://www.ask.com/bar?q=seafood+restaurants+downtown+seattle&page=1&qsrc=2417&ab=6&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.urbanspoon.com%2Ffn%2F1%2F50%2F9%2FSeattle%2FSeafood%2FDowntown.html

Click on the arrows on the map and then on the restaurant's link and it shows the relative cost and rating.

Some of the below might be too expensive, but check 'em out (one of your's is listed):

    "Best in Downtown Seattle

    The best Downtown Seattle Restaurants.

    1. Le Pichet
    2. Cafe Campagne
    3. Pink Door
    4. Mae Phim Thai Restaurant
    5. Dahlia Lounge
    6. Steelhead Diner
    7. Wild Ginger
    8. Metropolitan Grill
    9. Campagne
    10. Purple Cafe and Wine... "

Mamas mexican is too small for a bigger group.

     Steelhead Diner is awesome!!!!

A lot of places in Seattle are independently owned and therefore very small and can't house a lot of big groups.

I've heard Taphouse is great too.

I know a lot of amazing breakfast places also, if anyone wants to know of those for Sat or Sun.

There are also a lot of great sushi places..I've had sushi around the us and the sushi there melts in your mouth, but that might be hard for everyone to agree on.

I also like Wild Ginger. It's Thai, Korean, Vietnamese and some english...and is downtown. Has a full bar.

Luigi's Grotto is in Pioneer Square (Where Layne and the boys spent a lot of time..has a great vibe and lots of cool bars) is underground has a room for private parties and has great italian food.

5 SPOT in Queen anne is great for Breakfast and Dinner...has great american food and is located in Queen Anne.

I would almost suggest Capitol Hill Rests over Queen Anne...in my opinion the location is easier for everyone to get too.

Thanks Nat! Honestly, I'm not fussed as long as I dont have to take a mortgage to pay the bill!!! hahahaha!!!

The Wild Ginger sounds good to me...I think we are all staying downtown....Dawn is now booked too!!! Wooooohooooooooooo!

    But otherwise I eat anything, a n y t h i n g!

    Where's everybody????

Did you see they have announed the venue for the pre party? It's South of town I think...

Re: The 7th Annual Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit Concert

Ok - i've posted up a thread <<here>> regarding the dinner.

I'll see how many are interested and then pick a restaurant from your suggestions....I think Steelhead Diner, Wild Ginger and Luigi's Grotto are the contenders at the moment....I am going to email them to find out what kind of numbers they can cater for in a group.

EDIT! I think I've found it - it's changed names....is this it? (still no menu though) http://www.seattleslittleitaly.com/denunzios-restaurant.html

Re: The 7th Annual Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit Concert

Personally, I don’t think this is necessary, especially as our first names are being used in this thread, however I’m happy to go with the flow and do the myspace thing if that’s what everyone perfers.

I’m going to keep the dinner thread open however, with a compromise that all specfic details of time and restaurant are kept to PM. The dinner is open to all members of this board, and without any sort of advertising it will be restricted to our little group who are going to the LST weekend – which wasn’t the intention.

I realise there are some freaks out there – but I don’t think we need to overreact too much. If you are concerned for your personal safety – please be cautious about what you are posting on a personal level.

I guess boardies that are not going to the LSF Tribute can still make it to the restaurant with us if they want, right? So come over to MySpace:

    http://www.myspace.com/layngel

    and let's start organising ourselves!
