Let's try this again
This review is a bit of a long one, so sit tight.
K, first off, I wasn't going to the show. I had a family problem arise and I couldn't afford a ticket. I work near Nokia, so I figured I'd just drop by to say hey to my friends in line. (Kamb666, InLoveWithAIC4Ever , Coover, Catwoman, Drew and Allan.)
So I get there, and decide to try and get a ticket from someone, I didn't have the money I needed so that wasn't happenin'.
But lo and behold, Cat and InLove offered to buy me a ticket. I fought it for a little bit, but then I gave up. (I am indebted to you guiys for the rest of my life)
So we get into the show and I was in the center, agaisnt the rail.
While waiting on the show to start up, we're talking and stuff, and it turns out InLove was able to pull a few strings and get backstage passes. She goes and gets them, and then as luck would have it, I get the other one. So, as you can imagine, I was fuckin' freaking out!
We asked security about the passes, just to make sure they were legit, and yep, they were.
So finally the show starts and HURT graces us with their presense again.
Now, I take back what I said about that after night 1. I didn't like them and we all laughed when the singer busted out a violin. But tonight, I was right in front and the sound was MUCH better then the night before.
They were very good, the singer is bad ass. He tore up that shit. The violin spot was great. So, good shit. InLove and I met him after the show and got some pictures with him. Nicole, you were right, he IS fuckin' hot.
Anyways, the HURT guys leave us and the crew starts setting up for Alice. Out comes Spider-Travis, Sean's superhero drum tech.
Ok, enough with the jokes.
After like a 20 minute wait, the countdown starts, and our boys take the stage. The sound was much better than the day before. The show was great, they used the same set, except they added Dirt, which fuckin'; kicked ass.
The show ended a little bit after that, and InLove and I run into the bathroom to get prettied up for meeting the band.
We hand backstage and run into Big Val again (what a sweetie) and William. I talked with him fir a bit, he was sweet. I got a bunch of hugs and some pictures. He remembered me from the
Starland show, back in August and that was cool.
Then William had to go, so we said goodbye and hang around. We were afraid to go into the area that the rest of AIC was in. But we were hanging out with two cool guys, and they dragged us down there.
So we are in, and I see Sean talking to someone, and Jerry with two chicks, one in his lap.
I leaned up agaisnt a wall, feeling odd about being there. It was so surreal, I couldn't believe I was there. I mean, I'm not a groupie, nor do I look the part.
But after I had some greygoose, I loosened up and was able to talk.
Jerry walked by me, and I said hi, and he smiled at me and said "Hey, how are you doing?" and patted me on my hip. I was scared to meet hi, because of al the bad thing I heard, but he was very nice to me.
After that, I got to talk to Mikey again for like 10 minutes, he was a doll like always. I met him the night before, but wasn't able to say anything to him. But now I told him he gave me Sean's drumsticks at Starland and he remembered! I told him my life story basically and he hugged me and kissed me. That was so nice. Oh and I got to touch his hair. MIKEY HAS THE SOFTEST HAIR EVER!
Anyways, finally, FINALLY I went over to Sean. OH MY GOD... He was the sweetest man I have met.
We talked for like ten minutes about random stuff. He mentioned that they were thinking of adding Sunshine to the setlist. I told him we had been dying for that. I asked about Fear the Voices, and he said they've never played that live before, and they probably won't. I FINALLY got to tell him what I wanted to for years, which was basically how AIC helped me, and he helped me and how glad I was they were here. And he said he lived for that and gave me a super hug.
We took a few pictures, and he hugged me a lot, and they were real hugs too.
When we had to go, I went to say goodbye to him, and he gave me a super hug again.
That was the best night EVER!
And to top it off, we went to McDonald's, Allan taps me and I turn around, and guess who's standing there?
Jerry.
Jerry Cantrell was in MCDONALD'S.
I was like, you have got to be fucking kidding me.
He signed and took pictures with everyone just about. He was very nice about it.
Then we all just talked for a few hours and then I went home. So it was a GREAT night that I will never forget.
I have a shitload of pictures to post, but I;m too tired tonight, when I get in from work, I'll do them
