Hey, just a thought -- if you WIN Jerry's stuff on eBay and your company has a matching incentive program, set up the LSF and MusicCares in the program (since they are non-profits) and your company might match your contribution.  It might be a "win -win"!   You'd have to qualify the two organizations in your company's program.   Some programs like this have caps though.  So, if the auction gets too expensive, it might not work (or they might just match to the cap).

Great idea!!  Thanks for bringing that up.  Both are such great organizations that need the funds.  Yes

Welcome to the board, by the way!

    Good thinking Mr Green

Along the same lines, if anyone has bid & loses ~ you should consider sending that amount in anyway, if you were willing to spend that much, then donate it anyway.....or donate some of it....or whatever......

Jerry in the double-sided vest AND (maybe) the brown leather pants!

Anyone know what the heck happened to his left hand?!?!?  Picture had to have been from awhile ago.

Re: Jerry Cantrell's Closet Auction for Charity

If you want/need to set up LSF and MusiCares to file for matching incentives through company programs, here's the information to get each set up and approved:

Layne Staley Fund, PO Box 40531, Bellevue, WA 98015-4531, Tax ID:  201682910

MusiCares Foundation Inc., 3402 Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90405-2118, Tax ID:  954470909

Best of luck to everyone on the auction!  I'll be there (though under a different alias).

Damn...I would LOVE to have some new clothes, and to think they were once Jerry's is overwhelming...But I'm poor, and I don't see myself ever getting the money. Because I know they won't be cheep, even though it's almost my birthday =/

Beginning of May 2001, right in the middle of the Deg Trip tour, Jerry was playing football with the other bandmembers & techs on tour & caught his pinky finger on someone's shirt & broke a bone in his hand.....he finished off a couple of shows, singing only, then postponed the rest of the shows so he could fly back to LA & have surgery to repair it.....he was "out"for just a little over a month & went right back to touring with a swollen hand......and it didn't even effect his playing one smidgen.....

    And we're lucky it didn't......

....it was pretty scary at the time.....and people with the same type of injuries & pins in bones & all of that said that it would take him a long time to heal....and then he didn't take very long.....we all wondered if he was coming back too soon, but it sure didn't look like it once he got on stage......

LOL, he must not think of himself as a rockstar or else he wouldn't keep getting into these situations where he can get clumsy &/or hurt......

Thanks for the info Nature. . .I'd read that Jerry had had surgery around that time on his left shoulder, but they might have meant this injury and reported it wrong.

Hey, in thinking about this brown leather pants thread (I was up until 2 a.m. last night and read the entire thread. . .very tired today, but it was well worth the laughs!   I've been thinking that Jerry should be really thrilled about all the fantasizing that going on here.  Because of our obsession with him, it'll probably push up the price of those well worn (to the left!) pants well above and beyond what ANY of us can possibly afford!  It's a matter of supply and demand - short supply and seems like it's going to be a VERY large demand!!!!!!  Not very good for the buyer!  BUT, good for LSF and MusiCares.  So, I guess we've done good by these posts!!!  Keep 'em coming girls!  Big Smile

Yeah, he had that too....but the shoulder was after the hand......& he seems to have zipped right thru that surgery, too....he's a fast healer.....
