Joe Thornton is a beast. 'Nuff said. I'm glad the Sharks are finally not losing every other game as we've finally got a couple streaks going.

    JOE THORTON FUGGIN RULES!!!

    NUMBER 19 BABY!!!!

    HUUUGE  Sharks fans here.

We're going to the tank tomorrow night to see them roll over the Canuuks (again)

Can you belive how bad the Sharks play at home?

They are 17-3 on the road by far the best team in the league (10 road wins in a row) but they are like 7-9-4 at home.

Wilson says they try to play fancy in front of the home crowd and end up screwin' up.

Do you go to many games?

We catch about every 3rd game or so.

We should meet up before a game some time.

    peace

My Pred's suck bad this season. Not as bad as L.A. though. I wish we didn't have to play those damn Sharks. They are a thorn in the side.

    Re: Hockey people

    Geeesh,

I think I jinxed my Sharks by writing about them here.

They've lost a season high 4 straight. Since Nabokov took that night off it's been a train wreck for him ever since (5.0 gaa in the past 3 games)

They went into last week 1st in the division and 2nd in the conference to this week being 3rd in the division and 4th in the conference.

They were 16-3 on the road going into last week and lost back to back games.

They had a 3 game home winning streak at the end of last week and now they've lost 2 straight.

We went to the game against the Red Wings on Saturday night and it was a blast (playoff atmosphere) but Detriot beat our ass into the ground from mid way through the 2nd period until the end and to add salt in the wound they didn't even play Osgood.

Detriot has a sick team but it kills me that they get such unbelievable calls. Watching the Sharks play them was like watching a team play against blown glass.

It seemed like anytime a Shark touched a Red Wing the refs called a penalty.

They even had a 6 on 3 at one point.

You should have seen the Dominator flop like a fish when Ehrhoff's skate bumped his skate.
I can't believe the refs gave Ehrhoff 2 minutes for that BS.

It was like half our team was in the penatly box at once.

The Red Wings are the Michael Jordon of Hockey....the best of the best but they get all the calls.

I'd like to go see the Blues on Saturday (they are my childhood favorite)

If the Sharks don't start scoring more a couple of weeks after the all star break I think it's time to make some moves to get some scoring help.

Marleau is playing like he doesn't care  and Cheechoo hasn't done sh*t this year.

I guess the Bear and I are gluttons for punishment because we are going to the Sharks vs. Blackhawks game tonight at the tank.

I wish the All Star break would hurry up because my boys are on the skids right now.

I smell a 4 point night from Joe Thorton tonight.

    Let's hope anyway.

Cheechoo! :D I noticed him being a little more effective every game and it was only a matter of time before the old Cheech showed up. Marleau's still not doing anything though, so that's disappointing.

The Allstar game was awesome (too bad the West lost). I also liked the break away competition (they should keep that one around).

What did you all think about the NHL all star game in Atlanta? How did we handle it? Did we do a good job? What did you think about Marion Hossa scoring from Atl? What about Illya Kovalchuck not being able to score?  What about our former center scoring the final goal? Do you think we can re-sign Hossa? I don't! I think we will trade him! We are on a pretty good roll, right now. Who are ya'll pulling for??? Mike

Cheech is playing a lot better which typically would make us a top 3 team in the league but now Thorton is playing poor.  I never thought I'd type those words. It seems like he's lost focus lately. We saw them play Edmonton the other night and he really looked horrible. He couldn't even get his stick on the puck and yesterday he played poorly as well (even though he got his 500th assist)  Todays game wasn't on TV but I read that he had a goal.

     This morning we just collapsed.

We've lost 4 in a row and we are only 2 games into this brutal 8 game road trip.

I think we'll know where we stand when the Sharks come home.

We are either going to finish this road trip strong and be well within the top seeds of the west or we're going to be fighting hard to get into the playoffs.

Look at Phoenix, they are on the bubble and they have a pretty good team. The west is brutal this year.

A friend of mine works for the team and he said Marleau was getting sent out last week and faked the groin injury to avoid the trade. He said Marleau's wife doesn't want to leave san Jose and I guess the entire team is steamed at him for pulling this crap.

I saw him play for Seattle in the minors (along with Nedved and Osgood) and I've always loved him but he needs to go in a big way.

Now we need some D more than scoring now that Cheech is playing well.

Freak do you go to many games?

    Hey Mike,

I'll tell you what I think about the All Star game.....

Atlanta did a superb job of hosting.

and more importanty.......Nabokov is the MAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I TIVO'ed the game and I've watched that second period many times. That is one of the sickest goalie performances EVER. Those guys were firing on him like a machine gun and he stopped EVERY single shot.

Did you see him stop that one on one break away right before the 2nd period ended? The guy who fired the shot fell backwards like he was collapsing. It was hilarious.  Was that Hossa?

I agree with ya, I think you'll trade Hossa. He's great but he'll eat up too much of your money.

We need to trade Marleau in a big way. I can't believe his groin got messed up minutes from a trade.

I was talking to some people at the game the other night about getting rid of Marleau and some drunk dude in front on me almost started throwing blows when I said that. He qcted like we should be loyal to him for all the years he's played here.

    Screw that!
I want a Stanley Cup dammit!!!

I don't give a shit if he's the team captain or the President of the league.....if he doesn't produce and he eats up a ton of money get rid of his ass.

    Send him packing!!!

If you see Sludge around demand that he gets some Blue Jacket tickets. Nash is a monster!!!!!

Also tell him I said thanks for Jodie Shelley!!!

He's been playing out of his mind ever since he got here and a lot of the opponents who picked on our forwards have suddenly stopped because of his violent tendancies.

    c ya!

    Re: Hockey people

Naw, I don't get to go to too many games, which sucks since the Tank is like a ten minute ride from my house. My family can't really afford season tickets so we only go a few times a year.

Anyway, I don't really care whether they trade Marleau or not, especially if whoever we get produces. Here's a fact, Mareau is currently  -21, which is the team worst. The closest to that, Vlasic, is only -11.

The Sharks are really shooting themselves in the foot lately. We had Dallas in our sights and the Red Wings seem to be slowing down. They've got their work cut out for them if they want a good seed.

     hey Freak,
We couldn't afford it either if we didn't know someone that works for the team. We sit in his season ticket seats for $17 per.

A coworker and I are going in on season tix next year with the idea of selling close to half the games to people we know. I doubt we're going to get more than 2 seats but if you want tix for some games next year at face value let me know.  (We aren't going to hog the good games like most do)

You're close to the tank huh?

We live in Santa Clara and we're also 10 minutes away. We should meet up some day. Lot's of boadies know us so we'll pass the internet paranoia safety test . Ha-ha!

What part of the valley are you in?

We are on the north side of Santa Clara between the 237 and the 101 by Rivermark (off Montague)

Lindsey is in school tonight until 6:45 so I'm staying late at work. The Sharks game started at 4pm (New Jersey) and we are taping it on TIVO to watch later on.  I promised I wouldn't peek at the score on the internet so I'm not sure what the score is. It's not easy to avoid the score!!

The TIVO might be the greatest invention of all time. LOL
We don't watch much TV very but being able to watch a hockey game in 1 hour and 5 minutes is well worth the price.

    Keep in touch Freak.

    Chris

that's my city's team. I've been to a few games, they were cool, we got the seats closest to the rink.

I used to be obsessed with hockey (I'm not that much anymore) I guess it's because I used to live in Canada. Which was much better than the U.S. in hockey, most definitely.

Yea, our Goalie (Nabokov) is an alien. He played out of his mind again last night (we finally got a win)

I was at that game you're talking about. You had us out shot at the end of the second period like 25-5 but we some how hung around and got you late. You guys had to play the night before and they just got tired.

We have the sickest goalie and a ton of talent but our Defense makes We've lost our scoring punch. Cheecho is now playing great but we just can't get over that 2 or 3 goal a game hump.

We played Philly last night and they are really beaten up and playing horrible and we outshot them bigtime but it was 1-1 at the end of 2 and I was worried. Marleau has to start scoring or we're in trouble. The trade dealine is coming. Marleau is the guy we need to move for some defensive help. Like always Nabokov had to stop 4 or 5 odd man breakaways last night. On one of them was a 3 on 1 rush with 6 seconds left in the second period and they obviously scored. This crap has to stop.

We outplayed Jersey a few nights ago but we had a 2 minute window of terrible defense and it costs us the game.

We have the Penguins on Sunday. I wish Crosby was playing but I guess we'll have a better chance of beating him in his absense.

You have to get to a BJ's game. Nash is unbelievable.

Thrashers have given up! They got some guys for the future! Three prospects and a draft choice from Pittsburgh for Hassa! I think that this spells the end for our GM Don Waddell. Unfortunately, our ownership can't be fired! Mike
