Re: Concerts You Are Going To?
This summer, at the hottest venues across the country, musical fantasies will come true. Why? Because the legendary Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp is hitting the road, giving music lovers of all ages the chance to say, "I'm with the band" and take to the stage to prove it.
For the first time in its history, Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp is going ON TOUR for an exciting series of special one-day camps (plus special five-day "On the Road" packages)
in cities all across the country. This means that now, for a fraction
of the time and money it typically costs to "live the dream," rock
enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels can enjoy the
once-in-a-lifetime experience of meeting, jamming, rehearsing, and
performing live on stage with celebrated rock legends they idolize and
adore. The tour is being produced in association with Live Nation and the House of Blues.
"By taking Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp ON TOUR, we're able to make even more rock 'n' roll dreams come true," says David Fishof, founder of Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp. "Plus, this tour gives campers the chance to play right in front of their hometown fans — their friends and family."
Each
tour stop will see a different group of campers living out their
musical fantasies under the guidance of notable rockers (counselors).
The day begins with small groups of campers assigned to bands based on
their skill levels and choices of counselor. Next, campers rehearse
with their rock-star counselors, receiving professional instruction and
insider tips along the way. Finally, it's time for each band to take
the stage as the opening act for KING'S X and the headlining band EXTREME, the legendary rock band who is reuniting for the first time in 13 years in support of their new album. All of EXTREME's original members — Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Gary Cherone (vocals) and Pat Badger (bass) — along with new drummer Kevin Figueirdeo will be performing. But the music doesn't stop there for one band. Each performance will be taped and posted on the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp website to be voted on by the public. The band with the most votes at the end of the tour will win an all-expense paid trip to attend the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp in London this November where they will record at Abbey Road Studios, perform live, on-stage at The Cavern Club in Liverpool and win an at-home recording studio courtesy of Yamaha.
For the counselors, Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp is an inspirational journey too. Says former Camp counselor Roger Daltrey
about his experience: "Just to see people with enthusiasm even though
they all have different abilities, they all rise to the occasion and
it's fantastic. Another thing that I love about Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp is that it reminds me of what it used to be like when we started."
Going ON TOUR with Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp this summer are the following counselors:
Gilby Clarke (GUNS N' ROSES) Elliot Easton (THE CARS) Earl Slick (DAVID BOWIE, JOHN LENNON) Dave Ellefson (MEGADETH) Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE) Mark Slaughter (SLAUGHTER) Chris Slade (AC/DC) Mark Hudson (Grammy Award-winning writer/producer, AEROSMITH) Kip Winger (WINGER) Special guests will be dropping in throughout the tour.
Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp ON TOUR will kick off on July 9 in Pryor, Oklahoma at the Rocklahoma festival where campers will hit the main stage before acts like RATT, WARRANT, EXTREME, CINDERELLA, BRET MICHAELS and LITA FORD. Rocklahoma is one of the biggest rock festivals in the country, with over 30,000 attendees.
The dates are as follows:
July 09 - Pryor, OK @ Rocklahoma July 31 - Boston, MA @ Bank of America Pavilion Aug. 02 - Baltimore, MD @ Ram's Head Aug. 04 - New York City, NY @ Fillmore at Irving Plaza Aug. 06 - Cleveland, OH @ House of Blues Aug. 09 - Chicago, IL @ House of Blues Aug. 11 - Nashville, TN @ Wildhorse Saloon Aug. 13 - Atlanta, GA @ Center Stage Aug. 15 - Orlando, FL @ House of Blues Aug. 20 - Dallas, TX @ House of Blues Aug. 22 - Phoenix, AZ @ Marquee Theatre Aug. 23 - Las Vegas, NV @ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Aug. 25 - San Francisco, CA @ Fillmore Aug. 26 - Los Angeles, CA @ House of Blues
There are three different packages available to Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp ON TOUR campers:
* Tour Package ($1,999 per person): Includes
one-day instruction, jamming, and rehearsing with a rock star counselor
and bandmates; full counselor meet-and-greet for camper; and tickets
for a spouse/guest for the concert.
* VIP Tour Package ($2,499 per person): Includes
everything in the Tour Package plus full counselor meet-and-greet for
camper and a spouse/guest; 10 additional tickets to the concert and 12
t-shirts.
* Platinum Rock Star Tour Package ($9,999 per person): This
package allows campers to live on the road like a rock star for five
full days. Campers will travel on the bus, stay at the hotel, and even
receive per diem for meals. In addition, campers will receive Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp tour merchandise and tickets for friends and family. The price does not include airfare.
That Platinum deal has your name all over it.

Seriously...... if you could afford $10k for this, would you need per diem meals????????? Funny that they threw that in.

hahaha good point! Waaaay too expensive--if I paid $10K I'd want a cruise or luxury travel and hotel accomodations, not jackassing around in a bus. Although I hear some of those buses are incredible. and @ TheBlueNun--I'm going to that show too, it should rock!
~And if I can't have everything, well then just give me a taste~ Seems so sick to the hypocrite norm Running their boring drills But we are an elite race of our own ~Have a good time, all the time!~
