    Re: Letter to Layne, updated

It just doesn't make sense that she was there.  If the pic was taken in 1994, she would have been 13/14 years old.  Isn't she like 28 years old now?  I seriously doubt she was there.

Nat - you're great for getting the info straight from the source for us.  Thanks!

    Re: Letter to Layne, updated

People keep referring to the author's age....nowhere did she say she was 28 years old.  All she said was that she'd been unconciously lying to herself for the last twenty-eight years about who she is and who she's supposed to be.

I took that to mean that there was a certain point in her life when she unconciously began lying to herself, not that she'd been doing it since the day she was born.  I'm surprised this didn't cross anyone else's mind.

    Re: Letter to Layne, updated

I've seen several writings about her in which her age was told and they all say the same. For example one of them from 2005 says she was 26 years old at that time, so I understood her letter so that she has been lying to herself all her life.

    Signed the petition.

I have nothing much to say about this book, it's been made clear that its a disgrace to Layne.

With the exception of this and a few other websites, it seems that everything ever written about Layne, from magazine articles and interviews from when he was still alive to books written after his death, has been a disgrace.  Even so, nothing anyone writes, whether good or bad, true or untrue, is going to change my opinion about him.  He was the best.

Really, I think that's all that matters.  I was just trying to figure out why everyone was harping on the age thing because even though her bio on her website doesn't state the year she was born, it does say that she was doing freelance comedy writing & wrote some skits for SNL back in 97-98.  I'm sure she wasn't doing that at 17 or 18 years old.  Not to mention, looking at her pictures, she looks a wee bit older than 28.

Oh and for the record, she joined my Layne forum a while back, and she stated that her birthyear was 1980.
