    Guitar/Bass pedals

I got my bass today, and it kicks ass. I have absolutely no problems with it. But I would kind of like to not play acoustic on some songs, and since my 'amps' are the same speaker things I use for my guitar, I don't have any distortion at all. But I have a pedal for my guitar to give me some (a Digitech grunge pedal if it matters). Can I run my bass through it? I know it's a stupid question since I could just do it and find out, but I know they make specific bass pedals, and since I won't have any money for the next 56 weeks, I don't want to risk doing anything to my pedal/amps if there's something not compatable.

I also have a Dime Crybaby wah, would that work?

well...  I'd have to know what you mean by 'amps' and 'speaker things'

Playing a bass through a guitar amp can be harmful to the speaker.... it's designed to handle higher frequency sounds... so the lows a bass can produce can blow it out... but really, as long as you don't turn it up too much and keep your tone knobs down then it should be ok...

same should go for the stomp box and wah... don't play with them turned way up in tone or level... but effects are more or less interchangeable... Assuming you know who Cliff Burton is, and you know what the song (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth... then you may also know Cliff used a Big Muff Pi and a Cry Baby to play that song... so that's a good combo (distortion and wah) for bass...

     hope that helps!

The speaker things are amps. They're just not guitar amps. I don't know if there's such a thing as a regular amp but I have one. But I'm sure they're good on any frequency, my grandpa used 'em for his stereo before he gave 'em to me, and they seemed to handle songs (with guitar and bass) well.

So it won't do anything to my stuff then? Cool, thanks!
