    Party!!!

    MAKIN NOISE HERE!!!!

Lynda you officially rock!! Yes    I totally agree with everything you've said....you and others here. Layne was private and that's how some facts of his life should remain. We all love him and the music he shared with us but no matter who he was that gives no one the right to bandy about his private matters. A common person on the street has as much right to that. And just because Layne was famous doesn't mean that his life is above the law of common decency from others. We all need ot concentrate on what he DID share with the world and be eternally grateful for it. I know I am.

And I know SOMEONE who isn't.........................   Hmm

    Re: Letter to Layne, updated

I think that Tanya is using this board to get the rise that she wanted from us.  She had to know damn well that she would stir things up here.  This is a total marketing ploy.  Her and her publisher figure any noise they can create prior to the release of this book - even if it is negative in response - creates an awareness for their damn book.  I understand about standing up for Layne, which I do with all my heart.  But, I seriously think that this thread should be deleted because it will then not be used as the marketing stunt that Tanya and her publishers wanted it to be used for.  We are all playing right into their hands on this one.

Please Gwen and Lindsay, please delete this thread.  We don't need this kind of thing going on in the AIC community.  Please don't let the AIC.com board be hijacked and used to raise the hairs on the back of all of our necks and create any further buzz about this book.  Please delete this thread!

    Re: Letter to Layne, updated

I am a true Layne fan/ Alice fan. as well as a jerry wanna be girlfriend. LOL Wink i do say that with pride. haha. But true, that is why this is bothering me so much. i know i dont' post alot in the Layne threads. to be honest i hold Layne in myown heart and it honestly does upset me to go into those posts. dont' know why but it does.

At first i thought they should delte it too. but then i started to think  the mods should not delete this. the fans should make noise and let Tanya know exactly how we feel and make her realize this book will not sell. i do hear what you say BNB. but aliceinchains is not the huge going topic of today as i'd like to say it is. but i respect everything you have to say. and of course you know i love you. hahaha. but i had said that she did that on purpose as a means to see who here will be buying it. or to publicize it here. that is why i hope it works against her. and i'm trying for us all to make it work against and let her know. so maybe she will not go through with it.  But we as fans should show our disaproval and  make some louder mother fucking noise!!!! Theres's no way she can win if we are all disaproving her no matter what.  Casue bottom line noone here's gonna buy the book anyway. i think that is why she wanted it deleted herself. her last words were so you can go and delete it now.

But i guess we'll just leave that all up to the mods.

Can people show respect for somebody's privacy?

My gift of self is raped
    My privacy is raked
    And yet I find
    And yet I find
    Repeating in my head
If I can't be my own
    I'd feel better dead

    Enough said?

And leave the Jerry's wanna be girlfriend alone...there's actually quite a few of them here and they can be loud from time to time! LOL

No threat, this is not a threat, I just demand respect and "peace where I live"

    Please Tanya, give up!

Another trash book written about Layne...

Tanya none of us have seen proof of you even knowing Layne.

    Re: Letter to Layne, updated

    100% against the book

100% proud of being one of the jerry's wanna-be girlfriends

    but

there's something in this thread that really touched me, not in a positive way. the tone that has been used. i mean, i don't know this person, and though i don't think she will do any good publishing this book, i would never insult her in a way. for all i know, she might really have known layne and shared something with him, as well as the contrary. but i would never call her a liar without any proof. but that goes for her too. she doesn't know any of us, so doesn't have the right to insult people.

we should all rise our voices against the publication of this book and stand by nancy in all this, but, as tiziana suggested, i think that layne's words are more than enough.

and, if tanya knew, loved, and loves him for real, can't -won't?- ignore them.

    Re: Letter to Layne, updated

    Hey girls,

Just wanted to voice my opinion regarding this new Layne book.  It's a very sad thing to write about and speak about someone's addictions.   It's not fair to the individual or their family.  It's really a heart-wrenching topic.  I should know as my older brother died in 1993 of a heroin overdose and he was just 39 years old.   So I don't need to read a book about someone's drug addiction. I lived my life just watching someone close to me go through a downward spiral into that kind of life.  I'm sure Layne would be rolling over in his grave if he knew anything at all about this book.  I don't know what "positive" things that Tanya can speak of since she obviously lived this life also.   And I certaintly don't understand how the book could have a "positive" ending...  The story doesn't have a good ending and we all know that.   So unless your going to write about the kind, beautiful and talented man that Layne was and the good that he did in his short lifetime, then I certainly don't know why anyone would want to bother to read your book!   Sorry - just my opinion...  Embarrassed

I think Lynda said it best...Tanya you have absolutely no class at all.

The fact that Nancy is against this and your still pursuing it is appalling to me. Its also disgusting that u would make her emails public, not only that, but boast about it in a public forum.

    Re: Letter to Layne, updated

I agree with BNB but also agree with Lynda!

In a way I think we should make noise, but not let the media get involved, cause then she will get what she wants, publicity. Which, good or bad, will be publicity anyway.

I also cannot believe you'd publish Nancy's e-mails, I mean what for?? If there's something Nancy doesn't like is that. People spreading the e-mails they get from her, so why the hell would you do that?? Especially when they're not even positive for you lol. I don't get your reasoning.

Anyway... I'm so NOT bothering with this book. And yes, I am waiting for a REAL book on Layne, believe it or not, a real book will be published someday... and I don't mean a book full of details of his private life. That's not what we want to hear.

the more i read the more i realize that this woman should have a law suit on her hands. For the public posting of nancy's private emails alone.

I am just one of those people who say it like it is. call it as i feel it. i am honest and don't sugar coat anything. I have heard a lot of bad things about this woman and how she has done some very classless things in the past as well. I"m not afraid to tell her what i really think of her. and even more so knowing that she is going to publish a book and trash his own mother in it and no matter how she sees it her son as well. that burns my ass and i can't sugar coat it in the least.I do not have any respect for this woman what so ever and that is my right as well. And she has been caught in many lies even by the Baldy himself. and she refused to have an interview with the band also. and i never came right out and called her a liar. I just showed my disaproval of how she made Layne look in this book. How she is using the sensationalism. that is my biggest point here.  But I am  sorry if i have offended you though Serena. and anyone else as well. except you Tanya.  But maybe being a musician i am always compelled to stick up for what i believe in and in the truth of things. this is one that bothers me much and the reason i have spoken out the way i have. peace.

    Laynefan:

Thats because she doesn't know him =D

Seriously though even if she did know him based on her age there is no way she could've known him well enough to write a whole book on her experiences with Layne >_>

I personally don't see the point in arguing this as she obviously seems to stubborn to change her mind anyway >_> Besides theres always the chance no one will publish it for her or that she wont be able to get it widely distributed
