I so hope you are right about that HIP. Truly hope you are right. This man went through enough in his life. Wish we could let him rest in peace in his death.  Who knows maybe Layne himself will stop it. But I can't dwell on this any longer. so this is my last post here. i've said my peace and stirred the board up a bit. haha. which i only wanted to do as means to make her change her mind. but I had to speak out cause this has bothered me for a while when ever i heard about this book.

 I really hope Layne can stop it from happening himself. I'm just going to believe in that. a book should be written from the fans. like i've said before. stories of how Layne touched them in a positive way. how he helped them through bad times in there life. which I have spoken to Nancy about. We'll see you never know if something like that is in the works.

yes maybe he can still reach her somehow.  too many details about what he went through would be painful for his friends, family and fans. 

and tanya, idk why i'm asking this, but are you angry at layne?  could that be affecting the tone of your book and interaction with those close to him?

Kinda funny how right off the bat Tanya was taking shots at Adriana Rubio(???).  Now I never read that book, but from what I hear its garbage.  Maybe these two should get together and write something super duper garbage like!  Tanya claims to know Layne, but from her letter I don't even think she knows her own self.  She states how if she tells us now how she was linked to Layne it will basically ruin the book for us.  Well, NEWSFLASH, none of us are gonna read it anyway so u may as well impress us.  The thing is we are trying to warn u that if u put this book out and it walks all over Layne and regurgitates a bunch of shit we already know in different words, your writing career is done.  And I won't be paying for it, I'll fuckin go to a bookstore everyday til I'm done with it.  Only then, if I deem it respectful, informative, and credible, will I buy it.  I'm not a marketer, but if I were you, I'd maybe share some of the literature with us.  If it is worthy of his name on/in it you'll know it by are feedback.  Goin the Kurt Cobain suicide note on this forum ain't gonna exactly help the sales there sweety!!

I have to admit that I've been lurking the message boards, but this one I have to respond to.  I see there hasn't been a reply to this thread in quite some time, for good reason.  Why waste precious time giving this gal free publicity.  BUT, I have to chime in.  Her "story" is wrong on so many levels.

 She's 28?  Born in 1980?  1980!!  So, when Layne passed away, she was maybe 21/22.  And he was 34.  It's been well written that Layne was a recluse in the last few years of his life.  He would go to the Rainbow daily and sit alone in the back of the place.  So, I kind of doubt she was anywhere around Lanye from, at least 2000 through 2002.  So, IF she were to have met Layne, she would have been a teenager.  I seriously doubt that Layne would have hung around a teenager.  Maybe she met him once through a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend, and so forth.  When she says that Layne said to her "The elements outside are beyond your control", it most likely was raining outside at the time.  I picture it went like this:

Lots of people in a bar.  (She uses her fake ID to get in.)  She notices Layne at the bar with a few people.  She walks up to him, "I can't believe it's raining again.  How much more rain can anyone take?"  And Layne replies, "The elements outside are beyond your control."

That was the enough for her to write a book 10 years later.

And then, I hate to admit, that I went to her webpage.  There is a picture on her page that is entitled (if you right click to save it) "laynehouse" and it's a picture of Layne, Mike McCready, and John Baker Saunders sitting down in a living room.  When I saw this picture, I immediately thought of the "Heath Ledger Drug Video" where someone took video of Heath partying.  Are we supposed to assume that this gal took the picture and that's the proof that she knew Layne and was right there in his living room?  Since that picture is of Mad Season members, it had to have been circa 1994.  She would have been 13/14 years old.

So, my dear Tanya, Queen of all wannabes, I'm p.o.'d.  You have a lot of nerve.
