Re: The 7th Annual Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit Concert
Great, I'm about 4 blocks from there... Thursday 21st will be good for me....if of course I actually get there on time (it's the day I arrive)...I'm flying on stand-by, but so far the passenger loads look pretty good. The flight I hope to get on leaves LA at 9:30am and gets into Seattle at around 11:30ish...I should be there by dinner time anyhow!! We'll need someone to recommend a place to eat, someone who's actually been to Seattle before - lol!

I rarely sleep on aircraft, so yeah - I'm gonna be pretty tired....but it'll be sooooo worth it :) I'll sleep in on Friday morning and be fine.... Closer to the time we can start a thread about dinner on Thurs night....

Re: The 7th Annual Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit Concert
Hi everyone! I'll be there, too, and I'm sooooo excited! I would love for a Board dinner or whatever gathering we can come up with. I haven't been to Seattle in years and can't wait to go back. Anne

Hey Anne, did you book your accomodation yet? Where is everyone else staying who's coming in from further afield?

BlondNBlues:Hi everyone. Think I might be going, too. Not going to book anything until I have ticket in hand. I'll keep you posted though! I've never been to Seattle before. From the map it looks like the fountain is pretty far from the Showbox. Maybe a hotel in the middle of both? Dunno. Any suggestions?
I researched the shit out of downtown seattle hotels before booking mine - what is your budget?

Yeah - we've got that Chain for Layne thing at the fountain and then the party afterwards on Friday night, so I figured Thursday might be better. Yup...I'm getting in at lunchtime on Thursday

Big question is if I can get a ticket. Any scoop on that? Still says TBD over on LSF MySpace. Also, the Showbox SoDo doesn't list the event on their calendar yet. Once, I get the ticket, I'll book the hotel, probably rent a car at the airport (or maybe not - not sure), and check out the flight thing. I DID however, take the 21st and 22nd off from work - so at least that's planned. So, with ticket in hand, I'll be flying in as early as I can on Thursday. That's my plan so far. Keep me posted on any news you receive regarding the tickets - PLEASE! I'll probably not get the best deal with booking hotel/air since I'm waiting - oh well! I'm SO looking forward to meeting both of you and all of the other boardies that will be there, too! Very exciting to finally be setting the plans in motion to go to the Tribute for Layne - I've wanted and meant to do this for years! Dawn (a/k/a BNB - BlondNBlues) [LOL - Tiz you already know who I am (virtually), but others may not

Re: The 7th Annual Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit Concert
Actually Dawn, *puts on travel agent hat* if you are comfortable using sites like Priceline or Hotwire, booking late may actually go in your favour in terms of hotel prices. Airfares are usually best booked direct through the airline’s website for the cheapest price. If you aren’t travelling alone, your other option would be to book a air/hotel/car package through travelocity or expedia or the like they are great value for 2 people, however if you are on your own, I’d book it all seperately. Looking forward to meeting you….

I'm not fine, fuck pretending.
