    Re: rstone27 original songs

Sorry it's been so long getting back on this... comp has been down and work has been consuming my soul and lifeblood...

    The words are great man...

And I'll take on the challenge as soon as I get caught up with life in general...

As soon as I re-record a recent song, and finish the current song I'm writing for some friends and family who have been victimized in their lives... I'll take on yours...

I definitely get a strong vibe from them... I'll be able to come up with something with those words.

Thanks for taking the time to check out some of my stuff.  Im really passionate about music and writing out my thoughts and expressing them through voice.  However, Ive never played an instrument and it makes it hard for me to actually write music, at the same time giving me a low level of confidence in actually meeting with a band looking for a singer and showing them what I got.  Id love to hear what you may come up with if you have some extra time.

    Re: rstone27 original songs

just finished the new one last week and have been trying to record it with little luck...

finally got it done earlier.. but the sound is off a bit because of some mic buzzing...

    so mandirt...

that means i can devote some time to yours... i had a nice idea in mind as i was perusing the words...

i think i can have some fun with that, and go to my electric on it...

the sound is a little buzzy.. but until i get it fixed... it will have to do

    Hold Your Head Up High

    What started off in innocence

    Suddenly turned to something else

    For all intents

It just doesn’t make any sense

    He came into your life

    With a clever disguise

    He wore the devils grin

    Tried to lure you

    Into his web of lies

    Took you by surprise

    As he took away

    A piece of your life

    You freely gave your trust

    Which he ground into dust

    You’ve spent sleepless nights

    Wondering why

    You lie awake at night

    Reliving all the lies

    Inside a living hell

    A shattered shell

    Of yourself

    Hold your head up high

    Don’t run away or hide

Don’t be ashamed of the tears

Don’t give in to the fears

    Don’t you succumb

To what has made you numb…

    In your life…

    Hold your head up high

Don’t you run away and hide

Don’t be ashamed of those tears

Don’t give in to your fears

    Don’t you succumb

    To what has made you

    Numb…

    Re: rstone27 original songs

the link above doesnt work!!!!  I finnally made a couple shitty recordings with some new software I got and I put them up on my page if you're interested.  www.nextcat.com/passionrock.  They royally suck, but I think the original one I wrote shows some potential.  I actually cleaned out my harddrive a few days ago and lost all the poetry Ive written this year, besides a few I printed out.  Becuase I dont practice or play or create as much as I should, I cant remeber most of em. oh well.  Feeling the above lyrics, wish you lived nearby so id have someone to exhcnage ideas with.

Your songs are really good!  I liked them all, but "So Close, So Far Away" best...... beautiful.

    Re: rstone27 original songs

    The Sky Is Falling

    words by Mandirtexcuses

    The sky is falling

I’m in the midst of the clouds
    Falling and screaming
See what it means to fall free

Can’t justify the tainted love that be
Stolen from those who only choose what they want to see

The bodies are dying the children are crying to leave
More so in the sky than in the tides of the sea

Lost Souls (those who don’t care to try)
Lost souls (take what’s yours leave my side)

In the end in the earth we're destined to die

The mind is set in highest gear
Those we chase both far and near

    Religious relics dare to dream
I’d crucify myself before I’d resurrect their steam

Lost Souls (those who don’t care to try)
Lost souls (take what’s yours leave my side)
In the end in the earth we’re destined to die

    Lost Souls know their own
Lost Souls that know their existence

Take me away, Bleed me away from here

    The sky is falling

I’m in the midst of the clouds

    Falling and screaming
See what it means to fall free

Lost Souls (those who don’t care to try)
Lost souls (take what’s yours leave my side)

In the end in the earth we’re destined to die

    Re: rstone27 original songs

And yet again life has thrown a curve ball my family's way...

Sorry about not getting your song completed yet ManDirtExcuses... But my family is being torn apart by illnesses.

Since October last year, my father has had a heart attack, found out he has lung cancer, had part of his lung removed, and gone through torturous amounts of radiation, and chemo treatments...

My mom has been found to have a tumor on her stomach that if removed will take over half her stomach with it...

But my brothers baby girl has gone through numerous testing since her birth in November, to find out what has been ailing her. We have waited in frustration at what the doctors couldn't figure out. Other than the fact that she has a hole in her heart, she is 6 months old and is the weight of a 2 month old. Her development/growth has been slow, and until last week... no idea was known as to the true cause of her problems.

Turns out I think it was better not knowing what it was...

She has a disease called spinal muscular atrophy. In infants, it is usually type I, and is fatal.

So with that said, and before I lose my sanity again...

A new song dedicated to her...

    She makes me smile

    Another melancholy moment

    I’m trapped against my will

    The sky lifeless and gray

    Happiness unfulfilled

    Another melancholy thought

    Everything seems so dismal

    Colors seem washed away

    I’m broken hearted, miserable

    Contemplation brings a smile

    I ache from the sadness

A thought of her makes me smile

    At her unknowing innocence

    Maybe I’m biased

    Maybe I’m not thinking straight

Still it seems to be so wrong

That she may have less time on this earth than I

    Another melancholy day

    Despondency reigns

I feel my will has been taken away

And my strength has been drained

Consideration of how perfect she is

Of how short her time may be

A thought of her makes me smile

I wish I was as innocent as she

I look to the heavens, for the clouds to break

For something that might soothe the pain

Anything that might dull the ache

That resides inside my broken heart

    Contemplation brings a smile

    At her unknowing innocence

A thought of her makes me smile

    Re: rstone27 original songs

    Dare I say this...

Now that my life seems to be back in order...

Turns out my inspiration (my niece Jaelyn) for "She Makes Me Smile" won't have the dark ending that we had originally thought.

As callous as this may sound... We are happy that it seems to "only" be a tumor on her spine.

A much better outlook than was originally misdiagnosed as a terminal disease...

And with that much better outlook... my mind seems to be back in order, and focused on more healthier mental capacities (such as music).

And when I had that inclination to start doing the open mic thing again... I found out that the place I loved to play at  closed down and is an empty storefront...

So I had to do some hunting, and with the help of a fellow guitarists in the Portland area, I have found 3 places to ply my desired trade.

So this coming week... I'm starting up again. 2 open mics to warm up for the one that could land me a paying gig...

The only bad thing... very short time frames, and my songs tend to be longer than the norm...

So I'll post shortened versions in the next couple o' days of...

    Let Me

    Another Memory

    Hold Your Head Up High

So to all who showed a liking of my music... Thank you from the core of my soul. I hope to entertain you with new material again soon as I can...
