    Cubs

Cubs are looking pretty solid.  We got a couple of kinks to work out in an otherwise solid pitching staff but the offense has been incredible.  The Cubs are usually known for a weak offense and a strong pitching staff so Its good to finally see us put up some crooked numbers on the board with some consistency for once.  If Wood can be a strong closer and we can fill a gap in the starting rotation then I like our chances to win the Series just as much as anyones really.  Carlos Marmol is as good a relief pitcher thats in the entire league right now.

Everyone knows that its been 100 years since we won a World Series.  An interesting fact however...no one would guess it but the Cubs actually have a winning record in the franchises history.  Everyone also knows that the Cubs wear a "C" on their helmets....C stands for 100 in Roman numerals lol.

Man, I sure hope you're right about that Nik - about the "C" thing!  Not sure if there's many Cubs fans on here (or from Illinois), but I'm one.  Actually, not liking Wood as a closer.  But, GO CUBBIES!  And, please keep all goats and Steve Bartman away!!!

    Re: Cubs

Cubs are looking pretty good so far. We still have a long way to go and we have to keep this offense magic going. Poor Rich Hill, but it had to be done. I'm glad Leiber is back. Maybe this is a sign that it's Cubs year. 100 is our magic number.

    Re: Cubs

heh heh....sorry dude. this is a very disappointing season for me though. i really was cautiously optimmistic about this season but i did expect to see better baseball out of the reds than i have thus far. i mean they are making the same stupid mistake this season that they have in recent seasons past. they still have no ability to play small ball. both griffey and dunn need to be dealt asap. the griffey era has been nothing short of a disapointment, and dunn just flat out sucks. this fucker strikes out everytime he's up w/ runners in scoring position and only hits HRs when we're up or down by 5 or 6 runs.

i'm certain that griffey will be traded after he hits # 600 but i think they might let dunn play out his contract this season.

    Re: Cubs

eh the Cubs are spending money and want to win now..the Reds might as well play for the future..get a decent trade and it's not like we'd be hurting you with Griffey in three years

we're not giving up on this season yet. we got a shitload of talent and the season is still young. if we can just play smart baseball and our pitching holds up we'll be right back in it. we really don't need griffy or dunn to contend this season cause we got a shit ton of talent in the minors. i just don't wanna see griffey traded to the cubs or any other nl central rival.

    Re: Cubs

A writer today said that a trip back to Seattle would be the most likely trade scenario if one were to play out for him.
