    Re: Music Bank

Supreme box set, some real gems in here. Love those early demos; especially "Social Parasite", and they've been cleaned up so well too. Also "Lying Season" is quite the treat. The booklet is something any AIC fan will treasure with Jerry's notes on songs and some fantastic rare photos. "Get Born Again" is one of my all time fave AIC songs and I also love "Died". I really like the diection AIC were going with these songs. I always wish when I listen to them if only they could have put out one last album from these sessions, it could have been their best ever. As it is I can only imagine, and it makes me treasure these final songs and this fantastic box set even more...

    Re: Music Bank

....this was a sweet goodbye to their original contract.....it's like ALL of it got handed to us all at once......and along with this was the gem of a final interview with all four members on Rockline....for too long, there was little news, little happening with the guys, then this & the bonus (new) songs.......I know this is expensive, but worth every penny to get one for yourself.....

And the video footage that goes along with it, that ya have to get separately.....

It's like the whole platter of Alice, all at once Mr Green

    Re: Music Bank

CoolI've got all three disc on my new Nano!

Once, I misplaced one of the disc that finally reappeared so just in case this happens again (for now) I've got it coverd. I was pretty upset that I misplaced it.

I bought my collection new off eBay a few years back so it wasn't too expensive.

    Re: Music Bank

    Zip it!Cool

Back to the music. The demos are neat to listen to, hardcore AIC fans have played all their CD's to death so it was neat to hear some of the bands very early recordings demo style. Some of the tale end Glam days stuff gives me a chuckle once in a while. You can see where some later studio polishing really did the justice to a few of these songs. I like the demo of Junkhead, it just seems so loud and powerful, much more so that some of the regular tracks, the drums seem cranked up a notch, feels more raw, but in a good way. It was interesting to hear the original "still usin' like me" changed ultimately to "still doing like me."

It was also nice to be introduced to Fear The Voices and Lying Season on this boxed set. The Again remix is very interesting, I guess there is atleast one other remix of Again available out there but I have not heard it.

Ofcourse, peppered in are a ton of tracks from the regular albums. When you look at the intro post in this thread, it is somewhat amazing to see Jerry Cantrell's heavy hand in creating many of these songs. It is a bit overwhelming. This is a great set that gives an interesting longitudinal history of the band. The maturation of the band is evidenced as the discs play. AIC's albums were all a bit different from each other but when presented in a big package, you can get a sense of how diverse this band and allows you to step back, and see how much of an impact this band made in a relatively short period of time.

RIP Layne. The music lives on..........

I have the Music Bank Videos.  OMG, it is the best.  All the guys look really sexy.  My favorite video is "Down in the Hole".    I also have Nothing Safe-Best of the Box which I listen to everyday and night.   I am planning on purchasing the Music Bank also.

    Re: Music Bank

I got that DVD too and now I have those videos on my Nano. I'd have a hard time saying one was my favorite but I do like 'Again' cause that was the first song they played when I saw them live!

    Re: Music Bank

I went and purchased the Music Bank.  Luckily they had only one set left.  I guess luck was on my side.  I listened to all the cd's when I got home.  OMG, they were so good.  Now, I want to purchase the MTV Unplugged video, but at least I am content.

lake211, I know all the video's are good, but that particlular video has Jerry lying on a cot with his shirt open...he looks so good, as do they others.
