    HiP:

I don't really know much about Axl but I saw a documentary about Kurt Cobain's death in which he was interviewed (Because he spoke to Kurt on the plane when Kurt had just ran away from rehab and was flying to Seattle) and he said when he found out he didn't he didn't even care enough to finish watching the news report, he just changed the channel . . .

Was Axl on the plane to Seattle too?  I know that Duff (on his way home to Seattle) spoke to Kurt on the plane just before he died and was thus one of the last people to see him alive.

    Re: Leave Axl alone..

I dont know what to say! This was my idol, from my 10th year of age until Use Your Illusion, then I lost interest and saw him recently and I really ask myself "how can that be"? But then look at Michael Jackson.....Some people just loose it, dont know how to handle fame.....He was laways a bit of a knob tho', arrogant and violent! That said, Guns n' Roses was my first love, my first gig ever, I will never forget!!! I still wear their t-shirt (around the house, to bed, when cleaning....no disrespect, seriously!)...The shirt is 16 years old, I just cant throw it out!!!

I havent learnt much about him for the last 10 years but rest assured: Axl has done (and most probably still does) drugs, let's just be realistic here...

I like to remember those times:

17 years later, can I say Axl's tats were WRONG!!!

I guess Axl will not be left alone!!!

    Re: Leave Axl alone..

From what I've heard and read, Axl is pretty complex and someone messed in the head, and has been a little "off," his whole life. Sometimes, you can't blame him though. Slash has even claimed that him and the other guys were probably out of line many times and that Axl had reasons to be pissed at them for their crazy drug and alcohol use. Axl wasn't innocent himself, but was more under control of his situation. The other guys felt they could function sufficiently while being messed up, at time Axl didn't. That's not the only issue the band faced, there were many others, that the guys will mostly never mention let alone discuss. One of the biggest issues was that Axl wanted to control everything, which ultimately led to the demise of the band when he asked for rights to the name and the power to higher and fire the other members of the band. The other big one was Axl's uncontrollable spending on things the other band members thought were completely unnecessary, like all the extra costs on the GNR/Metallica tour that made Metallica millions and left GNR with nothing because of Axl's requests, and him having multiple studios around the country rented with gear sitting vacant with UYI was being worked on, just incase he felt like he wanted to work on the albums while he traveled, most of the studios were never even used. From the sounds of it, at least Slash knew from the time of joining GNR that it wasn't going to last. I get the feeling that if it took a little bit longer to get a label, and then get the album out, Slash at the very least would have walked out. It's more like they got their break so they stayed together to see it through, then they got HUGE and they were pretty much forced to stay together.
That's how you become great, man, hang your balls out there.
