I love Ann Wilson's vocals along with Layne and Jerry's to Am I Inside and Brother...makes those two songs my favorite on the album. Followed by Right Turn of course.

Sap is the album I got into last, but it surely has its own power and beauty as a record. Brother is my personal favorite from here followed by Got Me Wrong. Right Turn and Am I Inside are also good tracks. As much as I tried to understand the point of Love Song, I was never able to lol, perhaps somebody could explain...

Sap has a very special meaning to me coz it was sent to me as a part of the welcome package when I joined the AIC fan club in 1992. That's why it's the only AIC record I don't have on CD coz they sent me a cassette.

 

And the point of Love Song, I think, is that there is no point. And that's why it's the funniest song ever recorded by someone who is not a member of Monty Python.

Beautiful, I have it on a CD with Jar of Flies and I can listen to it over and over....Love Song scared the shit outta me the first time I listened to it!!!!

Right Turn is probably my fave off the album!

I bought this one when it came out. It was a surprise to me because I had no idea it even existed until I happened upon it at the music store. TOTALLY different from Facelift, but terrific in it's musicianship and the fact that they had the balls to release an acoustic EP that was such a departure from what they were known for. ALL the songs are stellar and Ann Wilson's contribution cannot be forgotten as well. Am I Inside was, to me, Layne's first really dark song that showed he was in a different place than anybody else. And Right Turn by Alice Mudgarden, that was STELLAR. Cornell, Layne, and Jerry ALL together. I had died and gone to grunge heaven!!!

I have the double EP, so its got JOF and SAP..

This EP is very special. Very very special. I'm glad its a short EP also, as it just wouldn't have worked as a long one. I really love it, its just got this really powerful feeling to it.

There are many artists that have quite a deal of trouble experimenting with a new sound from album to album but the transition from Facelift to Sap was truly effortless and natural.

It may only be just under 21 minutes long but every song stands out in its own way.

Got Me Wrong is personally one of my favourite songs from the band as I find it completely and utterly brilliant. Layne vocally was at the top of his game while Jerry created a masterful tune.

 I Am Inside is my second favourite song off of Sap. It's one of those rare occasions when I can grin from ear to ear while listening to a song with tears in my eyes thanks to its natural beauty.

 More people should go out of their way to check out the material from this EP.

 

I can't tell by ear, does Layne contribute vocals during any part of 'brother'? i think the chorus but i'm not sure, anyone know for sure?

This is so true!

Example, I may be showing my age but when the Boston (1976) album came out everyone was like 'Wow!'. Then their sophomore album 'Don't Look Back' came out and everyone was 'oh sounds just like the first one, boring!'.

Thankfully, that was not the case with any of the past AiC albums and SAP is one of my favs!

I hear Layne on the Music Bank version, I don't have the Ann Wilson recording (the one released on the original SAP)... but he might be there too. I loved Brother, it felt so much like heaven to me. I first heard this song when I played the Alice game from the Music Bank CD's... Now it's one of my favorites, toe to toe with Whale & Wasp.

Sap is nothing short of incredible. What a wonderful EP to listen to. Every song is fire. The bonus joint (untitled, love song, whatever you call it) was kind of wild though, haha. other than that, absolutely wonderful EP. Right turn is probably my favorite song on Sap, but they are all great.
