.....Poor Baldy, the band sends him out in front of the wolves to tease & taunt LOL .......

And he's right, the band has always been anti hype types......

I personally think that's a mistake in the "new age of music" (now vs the beginning/late 80s), but my opinion doesn't count...theirs does Wink.....

If you missed it, go check out Baldy's section for the latest on what's going on  Mr Green

I'm excited to hear the new Metallica, although I have never been a real big fan of them, more a casual listener that respects what they have done... But with Rick Rubin producing, I'm willing to bet it will be a badass album. Also another thought... maybe Lars will finally get his Metallica/Alice In Chains tour 15+ years in the making.

Not to gross anyone out or anything, but talk like this gives me a boner!

I'm telling you, I saw Steppenwolf(of all the bands I thought i'd never get to see) a few years ago. they must have all been approaching 70 and they kicked ass! I've seen many young groups that couldn't hold a candle to Jerry and the boys. I have seen their last two tours with William, and they were terrific, and judging by the huge audiences reaction, they agreed. They blew Velvet revolver off the stage, and, I think, lead to their demise! (Not to mention Scott's continuing addition problems!). Anyway, I hope they take their time and do a terrific job with the new music, and I sure can't wait until it comes out! Mike

Absolutely man, I saw them in detroit last year, and Alice owned VR.  The crowd was way more into AIC.  I am a huge fan of STP and the real GNR, but they can't touch Alice in Chains!  My girlfriend was at the show also, and she is not really a fan of our kind of music let alone either band, but she agreed that AIC blew Velvet Revolver away!

    Re: new material

I saw AIC at Pineknob too!  I lucked out and got 11th row seats!  I nearly feinted when jerry walked out onto stage only 40 feet from me.  He is a frickin guitar God!  The crowd was stoked for them.  I never saw them in thier first incarnation.  I did see Jerry live with Metallica, which was pretty close to a Metallica/AIC tour.  I have to say that AIC ripped it up and I cannot wait till the new stuff drops.  Just waiting patiently for the next update and the first single to be released and save rock and roll!  My wife is also not the biggest fan of the rock scene and she said that was one of the best concerts she has seen.  I could watch jerry wail on the guitar all day long...  If only I had 1/10 of his talent! LoL!

Right on.  Jerry is golden, he won't release anything unless he likes it so we are in great shape for a killer album.  And if anyone hasn't listened to Boggy Depot or Degredation Trip, you really outta check them out.  Awesome albums!
