Hello all -  I've been reading this board for a few days now, and decided to join.  I met some awesome people on the www.findadeath.com board and they introduced me to this site.  Obviously, I'm a huge Layne Staley fan.  I love Alice in Chains as a whole, but it is not the same for me without Layne.  In my humblest of opinions, I'd prefer the band carry on without using the AIC name out of respect for Layne...but to each their own.  I heard "No Excuses" on the radio today and it thrilled me.  Layne will live on forever.  Nice to meet all of you :)

  Welcome, LTS! It's not the same w/o Layne (how could it be ?), but the current lineup is all we've got. I've decided to count my blessings that Jerry & the boys are gonna carry on--they could have done much worse than Mr. Duvall. It's weird about your sig.-- I've been singing that same passage from Sludge Factory in my head all damn day! Anyway, this site rocks. Alot of passionate, intelligent, & highly evolved people here. Have fun....

I think it's a reference to an old t.v. show---a comedy involving a big-assed dog (I think it was a St. Bernard or something.) As far as what he meant specifically, I'm not sure. I just picked the name because the first 6 or so  that I tried were allready taken and I was losing patience. Maybe someone else knows more about it. Could be a good topic--analyzing obscure lyrics! Peace....
