Re: Where is the new music???

When I started this post, most of the folks told me to wait. I've been waiting, and I'm still waiting, just like all of the folks who love their sound sooo much!!! Like many, their songs have helped me through some tough times! Their music helped get me through!!! I still love their old stuff!!! Layne had the best voice ever. I've talked to Nancy, his mom, and she agrees that Layne would love for the band to go on! He would wish Jerry, Mike, Sean and William the best! I know he is watching them up there somewhere and waiting for the new music and will be a fan!!! Mike

Don't be too optimistic. Jerry is pushing 40 years old and rock bands always lose it as the years progress (except the Rolling Stones, of course). Just look at Guns 'N' Roses. I'm sure Jerry will do some more solo stuff but i don't reckon he'll record any new AIC. Besides, William has other commitments.

Judging by the Megadeth concert I saw last night, you don't know what you are talking about.

And judging by the three Alice shows I have seen.

And the Black Crowes show I saw Sat. night.

And, I can't die until Jerry gives us another solo masterpiece.

I said that over a year ago now and (thankfully) it's turned out that I was wrong. I'm a natural pessimist but now I'm feeling a lot more optimistic and can't wait for the new stuff. I never said I didn't want it to happen, I just didn't want to make any assumptions .

Ain't that the truth. My wife listens to Degradation Trip 1 & 2 daily. Not to knock any new AIC stuff, because I'm sure when it comes out its going to be top notch, but I'm content with the studio albums they have given us. I've got to have another solo Jerry album though. Whatever happened to that song "Swine" he was working on? Heck, probably just a rumor anyway. I would bet that most of what is going to be on this new record is stuff Jerry was going to use on any solo record he was going to record.

that's cool AIC brother, I'm glad you were wrong too! I'll tell you another band that still kicks ass that's up there in age. Judas Priest. If you ever have the opportunity, go see them.

Degradation Trip was indeed incredible. I probably still listen to it more than I do any_other_album.

    Re: new material

Hey everyone. I was only briefly able to speak with Jerry at the Road Recovery Benefit since it was utter chaos. I told him that I heard he was out in LA making a new Alice record and asked how it was going. He said with a smile, "It's going awesome, man." I proceeded to mention that the fans I've spoken to are excited to hear new Alice music and he just thanked me and said he was also excited.

Side note, I wanted to say hello to all the Alice fans I bumped into at the Road Recovery Benefit. It was cool meeting all you! I was a little upset that Jerry didn't really play much in the second half of the show. But it looks like Jerry grew back his bad ass rocker beard!

Right on, thanks for the report, Casper!  I was hoping you'd remember to share the love!  Mr Green

I like the way you quoted him  -  I could just hear him saying that.....

Thanks for passing along our support to him!

...time goes by, hell DECADES go by (it's been 10 years since Boggy Depot).....so many changes...one thing seems to always stay the same: being able to predict what's happening based on Jerry's facial hair  LOL

Also Phil Anslemo is pushing 40 as well, and the new Down album is epic!!!! So that throws that theory to hell.  I too would love to see another Jerry solo effort as D trip and Boggy were masterpieces!! Peace to all!

    Re: new material

I'm telling you, I saw Steppenwolf(of all the bands I thought i'd never get to see) a few years ago. they must have all been approaching 70 and they kicked ass! I've seen many young groups that couldn't hold a candle to Jerry and the boys. I have seen their last two tours with William, and they were terrific, and judging by the huge audiences reaction, they agreed. They blew Velvet revolver off the stage, and, I think, lead to their demise! (Not to mention Scott's continuing addition problems!). Anyway, I hope they take their time and do a terrific job with the new music, and I sure can't wait until it comes out! Mike
