    Stone Sour

Stone Sour is a great band. It's fronted by Slipknots lead singer. It's not like Slipknot at all. Their new album is probably the best rock album i've heard all year. Go listen to it. "Come What(ever) May". I'm addicted to this song "Your God" and it's not even the 1st single. Come to think of it, the whole album is damn good. Laughing

Yea, I think that this album is definatly a big step up from the debut album. It's funny, Road Runner used the same formula this tiem around that the did for the first album; release a heavy first single, release a more commercial second single, haha. Corey is a really great writer.

Corey's got a great voice,I really like this band.

Personally I prefer Slipknots album to any others because musically it's their best and they show of their chops on it more than their other albums which were very much a wall of noise.

Stone Sour are great though, great live too.

Buy this! Now!! Seriously! its deadly!

this new album is fucking awesome. just awesome.

it kicks ass over their first album. i say corey and jim should forget slipknot and just concentrate on ss. his voice will stand a chance of making it past 40.

o god yes. coreys vocals are fantastic, more of a rock edge to em rather than the growling and screaming with slipknot. plus it exposes jim as a great guitarist. its just good to hear some solos and decent riffs rather than the standard one two puch that he has with mick....its just a really good rock album.....

as far as slipknot goes i really dont think theyll be back

    Re: Stone Sour

this stone sour is one GREAT rock album. So far nothing this year compares to it. I first found it amazing that people from Slipknot could create music like this. Corey is such a great vocalist. I would have never guessed from listening to Slipknot...whom I love. Yes, the solos and riffs stand out a lot here.

    Re: Stone Sour

I checked them out, and it just sounds really really boring.

It's basicly a plunge from Slipknot into generic, which is probably good since slipknot is terrible

And the guy's voice sounds dorky when he tries to sound evil, it's dumb

I haven't had the chance to pick up the new CD yet but I will be getting it in the next couple of days.  I really liked the first one and have been looking forward to this for awhile now.  BTW I read some place recently that Slipknot will definetly be back.

    Re: Stone Sour

Quick thoughts after just a couple of listens.

Some nice solo's on here.  Coreys vocal work is great as always.  Come What(ever) May (the song) has a definite political lean to it as do some others.  Good album, good variety, although I haven't listened to it enough to compare it with their first offering yet.
