    Nickelback

I've been a fan of these guys I guess for about ten years or so now. Great band that seems to get better and better with each album. I'm sure there are more than a few of us here that know that Jerry toured with them for a bit in support of Degredation Trip. Jerry even performed 'It Ain't Like That' with Nickelback and it's featured on the bands DVD that they did for there 'Silver Side Up' tour. They're a great live band. I think actually one of the top 3 bands I've seen all year actually. Just a really great live show and they're a really tight, in the pocket live band.

I've been a fan of Nickelback for about 6 years.  They're a great band.  Haven't been able to catch them live yet -- but as soon as the opportunity presents itself I will be right at the stage.  My fiance and my cousin are huge fans as well, so they'll be right there beside me showing their support.

    Re: Nickelback

I love Nickelback, one of my favourate bands along with AIC.  They were the first band I saw live actually!  Theyre pretty underatred in the UK (but still have a decent size loyal fanbase), they had a very succesful peak during How You Remind Me/ SSU, but the success of the single made loads of close minded people turn their backs on the band - after all we cant possibly listen to bands that have a comercially succesful song now can we? haha, theyre an awesome band and I love everyone of their albums.  All The Right Reasons is sitting next to my CD player right now actually.

    Re: Nickelback

I've been a fan of Nickelback since about 1999 or so. I think they do take a little from Alice, but to me they seem a little more Nirvana influenced. Vocally at least, and some of those guitar riffs could have come off of In Utero. Overall though a pretty damn solid band, who won't be remembered as copying anyone. Nickelback is deffinetly one of my top 5.

Nickelback? Definitely not a fan, but I'll let you know how they are live since I'll be seeing them open for Bon Jovi tonight.

You own Curb?  They're first commercial CD?  Props to you if you do!

Been a Nickelback fan since I first saw them at a Jam Pad in my hometown in about 1994 or so.  I grew up in a small town (although larger than their hometown) about 3 hrs north of Nickelback central, Hanna.  Partied with them, jammed with them a few times.  Know them well enough to know that I really don't like knowing them.     Well, Chad anyways.

The rest of the guys are pretty cool but Chad is pretty arrogant.  I have a lot of respect for the guy I mean c'mon, he's the lead singer in frickin' Nickelback for crying out loud.  The thing with him is if you're not gonna help him be more popular, you are beneath him.

Been to a bunch of their big shows as well as a lot of smaller stuff they've done and they kick ass.  I consider myself very fortunate to have met and known these guys (before lineup change)  who have done so much to try and bring rock back from what was almost certain death.

I have been and always will be a Nickelback fan.  Despite the fact I don't like Chad, he is a rockstar, and a damn good one at that.

See you next time you come home, boys!

    mermaidcave:

Actually every other top 40 bad rock band sounds like them.  There are 2 reasons for this:

    1) Just the same as when Nirvana exploded (no i'm not comparing Nickelback to Nirvana, but the scenario is the same), Nickelback came out with a fresh sound when rock music needed a good kick in the pants and every record producer and his lap dog are scrambling to find the next Nickelback, just as back in the '90's, everyone was emulating the Nirvana sound.

    2) Chad Kroeger is also a very (VERY) hands on producer of a lot of other (crap) bands that in turn sound a lot like Nickelback, because of his influence.  Default and Theory of a Deadman (Theory of a Nickelback as we call it here) are two of the more popular ones.
