    Re: Mother Love Bone

I wish a store would have their alblum!!  Im not buying anything else online.  Credit card fraud, and also Im still waiting on clothes I bought from Marc Vachon.

I really wish they would make a BIG BUDGET movie on the grunge bands.  However, a studio would probably do one solely on Nirvana.  However, AIC, PJ and SG were all friends, along with MLB and TOTD.  THAT would be great.

    Re: Mother Love Bone

MLB were my first musical obsession, back in the day I had Mother Love Bone painted all the way across my bedroom wall(I was 12, i thought it was cool) and no one at my school knew who on earth they were...which I ofcourse loved, ha, but hated at the same time. All these years later I still listen to them when so much else of what I listened to back then has ofcourse fallen by the wayside. But not them. Or Alice, obviously.

How old are you guys who are getting into them now? I'm just curious... its great that they are still being discovered by younger people.......Jesus I sound old.

    Re: Mother Love Bone

not sure when exactly think i was bout 14 r 15 anyway around that time and i pretty much stumbled across them accidently. later found out that one of my friends had been listening to them all along but never said a word about them which was weird.

they have some really great songs my girlfriend is mental about them. pity about the shortage of music they made and released. but then there would be no pearl jam i guess

According to imdb.com the movie was released in 2005, but wasn't shown much outside of Seattle and some few other places. It was put onto DVD in 2006 though........it must be out there somewhere Confused

Also on said site, found this link

    http://www.wammybox.com/

sells unreleased Andy solo stuff and Malfunkshun stuff, apparently run by Kevin Wood, Andys brother, if anyones interested.

I'm only 2/3 years younger than you (I believe, I'm 29) but I discovered them recently and man.....THEY ARE AMAZING!!! When they were big in Seattle nobody knew about them in Italy...I had heard of them but GnR were the shit at the time (at least in Italy). Going back to the AiCer that compared them to GnR...mmmm...With all the respect for GnR (I swear I was a huge fan at the time) MLB are faaaaaaaaar more original than them and those lyrics....MLB was an amazing band and Andy had everything to become what he wanted to become, I'm positive he would have gone further than Freddy Mercury (who was a big influence for him) ...It's a real shame he went!

I never checked out Malfunkshun tho! How is it? Harder than MLB?

You're actually a year older than me. I loved GnR as a kid too, they were the first band I ever saw in concert (supported by Soundgarden! Big Smile) That was in '92. You're absolutly right though, MLB are just far superior.

I can't comment on Malfunkshun though, I have'nt really listened to them, always found it hard to get any of their stuff in UK. I'll make it my new mission though. Thanks for that link btw, love the pics on there and looks like the film might be out on dvd soon........hopefully.

    Haha, you're older.....but only a little, i turned 28 3 days ago Wink

I saw GnR in June 1992, London, Wembley Stadium. June 13th. Faith No More were also there! Where did you see them?

BTW, if you go to Malfunkshun MySpace page you can hear a few songs. Until The Ocean is great.

I saw them in Turin, Italy...I think it was June 21st or 28th I cant quite remember....

Thanks for the hint, I'll go check them out...You know Kevin Wood (his brother) has come up with a bunch of lyrics from Andrew (like rare stuff...) and has added music to them..I think they are called From The North...I should check them out too!
