Love Mudhoney since I was young, listening to 'Touch me I'm sick' right now... ;) I think theyr'e more of a Grunge band than Alice however. [Note: that was nto a insult to AIC]

    Re: Mudhoney

What album would you recommend to a Mudhoney beginner? And would I know any songs?

I think you should try Superfuzz Bigmuff + Early Singles. That;s a great one. How should I know if you know the songs? ;) But these are the populair songs on that record:

"Touch me, I'm Sick", "In 'n Out Of Grace", "Hate The Police" and "You got it".

     Well what's grunge anyway ;)

I see grunge more as Mudhoney, Nirvana, Malfunkshun and so, but Alice In Chains is less punk and more metal influenced.

i def agree. And AIC started out as Hair Metal , unlike the others. which leads me to believe that if 'Grunge' or the Seattle scene never exploded, i think AIC would srill be famous and popular. ;)

after seeing them friday night, i concluded they are mroe metal than grunge. definately. sean pounded the living fuck out of that set! but mudhoney kicks ass. great band. they sound like their name. well...maybe more twards the mud part. the guitars are so garage band/cheap sounding. but thats wat mkaes the band amazing. and their new album is very good. although it is a year or so old.
