Re: Saint Paul, MN (Xcel Energy Center) 8.29.07
I just got home and DAMN. I have never been able to see AIC before but I have most everything they have put out and I was not disappointed. All my friends and I were very very satisfied with William's performance! I thought the sound people could have put some more volume on the vocals. I have Only been a AIC fan for about 5 years but they have been my favorite band since I started listening. I truly wish that I would have been able to see Layne but as I said this was an AWESOME experience!!! Now next time you guys come you need to Headline the show!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry to say that I left about 4-5 songs into Velvet Revolver. Alice is a DAMN hard act to follow in my book.
Keep up the awesome work and come back to the cities soon for me!!!! Hmm wish I could really say how happy I was to finally go to the show!!!!

Best damn concert ever alice in chains shoulda been closing act or atleast done an encore man the crowd was aiming for that encore :(.... But still best damn concert ever the vocals coulda been upd a bit seemed like I could hear most chains songs fine but once Velvet started playing not much vocals... Rooster and Bones were the shit cant wait hope another concert coming again anyone get to see if velvet did an encore? Doubt they did.... Oh ya the 1 hr ride home still heart beaten from the bass..

This show was frickin amazing. I saw the guys last time they came at First Ave. and this was just as good. The setlist was awesome, (different than the one I saw online, so that was nice). At the end, I caught Sean's drumstick, but so did 2 other people, and I got punked for that. I'm glad I didn't leave after AIC, because during Velvet Revolver's set, I'm walking of the floor to get a water (frickin hot, man), and who's chillin' on the floor? William Duvall. Told him he did an excellent job and shook his hand, capped of an awesome night.

Was absolutely an unbelievable show. My buddy and I both ended up with picks! Wish I could've seen William out on the floor. Even though the intensity was lost during VR, it was still an awesome show. Fantastic all around.

The show was definitely awesome. I read a review of this concert in the Star Tribune and said, "Alice In Chains was CLEARLY THE SHOW STEALER." The setlist was Again Grind We Die Young Them Bones Damn That River Rain When I Die Nutshell It Ain't Like That Man In The Box Would? Rooster I cannot wait until they come back.

aic sounded better than they did at first ave last winter. glad they played nutshell. disagree about the "energy" leaving after aic. "patience" stole the show, not even close on loudest pop. duvall said "hello minneapolis"... oh well.

Brilliant as always. AIC SHOULD OPEN FOR NO ONE!!! Left after VR's second song -- meh... I was only there for one reason.

Hehehe, at least he was
close.....after the first week on a tour, all semblance of normal
geographical bearings just disappear......

Re: Saint Paul, MN (Xcel Energy Center) 8.29.07
Some people that come to the Twin Cities don't really even realize Saint Paul exists - it's just one big Minneapolis to them. Not an unusual deal by any means. At least he was on the right track! Besides that, has AIC EVER played in Saint Paul? Not that I remember... When I saw AIC in Sioux Falls last year, I guess when the show was over, they went and hung out on the midway of the fair they were playing that night - had I only known... Missed seeing WD at Xcel too I guess...

William is a big crowd
mingler ~ be it his own band or AIC, he likes to get out in the crowd
as often as possible.......he use to get a kick out of standing in the
middle of things & having no one recognize him, but as he said not
long ago ~ those times are getting rarer & rarer & he had to be
rescued (a few times) from a mob of people wanting autographs
.....he likes to over hear what the crowds have to say, too ~ he feels
it's an honest outlook, whereas in person sometimes people never speak
up
