Oct 20 ~ Columbia, MO [The Bluenote]
By popular demand, more Acoustic Hour shows have been added to the tour - talk amongst yourselves here! Presale tickets will be available for this gig from the AliceInChains.com Store from September 19 at 10am CDT.
...You my friend, I will defend. And if we change, well I love you anyway.

I really hate the thought of standing. It would be nice if we could buy reserved via the aic store. Standing is better than not going though so I bought them anyway! Alice In Chains - Bluenote - Columbia, MO - 10/20/2007 - 4 @ $53.50 ;)

Re: Oct 20 ~ Columbia, MO [The Bluenote]
Anyone else on here going to this show? I just thought I'd post something to this thread since it seems to be slipping further and further away down the list of threads with recent activity. I opted to wait until today (Saturday) to buy tickets from Ticketmaster with the hopes of landing some balcony seats. Wish me luck. If I can't get the balcony on ticketmaster I should just come back here and order the presale GA's since they are still available. Also, anyone who could give me a review of the The Blue Note and what it's like would be appreciated!

Definitely worth the wait!!! Got Second Row Center Balcony Tickets :-) That's Row B seats 11 and 12 for anyone who knows the venue Also, 2 tickets with all the charges and the ticketfast print tickets option ended up only being $105. 2 Tickets from the AIC presale was $107 and the tickets are will call. When is ticketmaster ever the best deal? :-)

Re: Oct 20 ~ Columbia, MO [The Bluenote]
I just found something out... The Mizzou Tigers are playing Texas Tech in Columbia, MO the same night AIC is there. Considering that Columbia is a college town and that this game is apparently a big one, I'm wondering how this will affect AIC ticket sales. There are only 250 balcony seats at the most in the Blue Note, and 8 hours after they went on sale you can still get a balcony ticket -- doesn't sound good. When they were in St. Louis at the Pageant early in September, the balcony was sold out within the first few mins and there are more like 350 balcony seats there. Does College Football trump an AIC concert? Just a thought......

Re: Oct 20 ~ Columbia, MO [The Bluenote]
From what I can tell there is not a time set for the football game yet. I would be willing to bet the game goes off in the afternoon, 2:30-3pmish. I am actually hoping thats the case then Ill drive out early and try and scalp me some student seats. Should be a great game. I would be pretty suprised if the show didnt sell out.

Re: Oct 20 ~ Columbia, MO [The Bluenote]
The Blue Note is a great place to see shows. There's really not a bad seat in the place. Way back in the day it was like an opera house or something, so you get a good view of the stage wherever you are at. I've seen some great bands play there like Shinedown, Weezer, Foo Fighters etc. and was never really disappointed with where I was at, and I've been on the floor and the balcony. As far as the Mizzou game, it will make a huge difference for the amount of people who are going to see AIC...but it really depends on what time the game is. Tonight was a big game too, and it was crazy all over Columbia. If it's an afternoon game, then downtown might be crazy around 8 when the doors open because everyone will still be out and about bar hopping etc. If it's an evening game, then we might get lucky and a majority of the people going to the game will already be there. BTW, they went 5-0 tonight, so if they continue to play really good that will probably have an impact on the crowds too. See you all there!

Re: Oct 20 ~ Columbia, MO [The Bluenote]
Hey BMC. When do they typically announce the start time of the game? I would think that's something that should be known at least a couple weeks in advance for traveling and other considerations. I take it you're from the area? You might be the right person to ask about this then... I've seen the satellite view of the area right around the Blue Note on google maps and I can't figure out where everyone is going to park. My gal and I are staying at the Motel 6 off of exit 128-A on I-70. That's probably a bit too far away to walk though. If the town is going to be even busier that night, I'm getting a little bit nervous about the best way to get down there. Do you have any suggestions? Should be a great show! I'm actually hoping now that the game is during the concert to reduce some congestion. I still hope it sells out though.

I saw your PM asking me this stuff first, so I responded in there. But just in case anyone else was curious about the answer, here it is: Well I only know this because I actually work for the mizzou radio
network :P The start of the game won't be announced till Monday
probably, because it's a tv game, so they pretty much pick when the
game will be.
I'm from Jeff City, which is about 30 minutes
away, so I do know the area up there somewhat. Luckily (maybe) the
blue note and the stadium where the tigers play aren't that close to
each other. The Blue Note is right in down town, but the stadium
isn't, so hopefully the game fans won't cause to much of a problem with
parking. If you can, I would get to columbia pretty early though, just
in case. You can always walk around down town and do stuff to kill a
few hours. There are some pretty cool places to just look around etc.
near the blue note. I'm probably not much help, sorry about that
lol......Where are you coming from?

Yeah, an afternoon game.... And guess what happened to the tickets soon after they announced the game time? That's right, they completely sold out! Musta been one frustrating month for the AIC fans who have football tickets and wanted to go to both, but needed to know start time of game first.

They're talking about this show! Head over to Tales From the Road and see what they're saying.
