DonkeyDick:What a butt kicking the VOLS took today. I guess I should go with my head instead of my heart. It hasn't been to good for me lately. The VOLS, Tony Stewart, The Predators, My son's Jr. Pro team, My High school Alma Mater. All seem to be doing badly. I am glad I am not a betting man.
Hey Donkey, I've seen years go just the same, so I feel your pain. I haven't had a chance to check the board since the game until now.
I really thought we were in for a shootout for the first couple of quarters. What can I say though? There've been many times when a QB has really shown up against us and played above his head (i.e. - Matt Stafford about a month ago for UGA), and I think that's the kind of thing that happened to you guys with J.P. I knew he had that kind of game in him, but it's just taking him the better part of the season to get comfortable with his footwork, mechanics, etc. in the new offensive scheme. It would've been hard for many teams to beat us yesterday with him in that kind of zone at home. Luckily, our defense disguised enough looks (mainly in the secondary) to throw Ainge off just enough in the second.
I'm just glad it wasn't a woulda, coulda, shoulda thing that the refs would have to decide (which I thought did a decent job... I'd say both teams had some things to argue with them about though) and at least it wasn't a trashy win like the week before.
Good Luck the rest of the way out, especially for your son's team. My flag football team can't win one to save its life. heh heh
