I love hockey! I wish I lived near a major hockey team..but I do have an AHL team, the Peoria Rivermen, which isn't that bad...still minor league though.

Going to the game tonight vs. the Caps! We could actually move out of last place. Not too bad after a horrible start. Our rookie goalie(Andrej Pavelec)  could get his first home start. He beat the Lightning the other night in an increadible 3rd period comeback! I saw Kari Lehtonin's first win, it would be fun so see Andrej's first home win!

My nucks did the same thing last season but pulled through in style after christmas, to be honest as soon as I found out they signed Luongo I had said that 08/09 would be the year of years... contracts and such.

The Northwest division this year does seem like it's up for grabs.  I dont think the Wild have enough to make it as division champs, but maybe squeek in as the 7th or 8th.  As for your Nucks, they always do seem to play damn good down the stretch.

I'm disappointed with just about all of the league. Most teams are hanging around .500 right now, which is a lot more than there were last year at this time. There have been some minor improvements, such as the Blues,. Hawks, Bluejackets, but not much else.

The fact that the Senators and Red Wings are atop the league again is kind of gay but not surprising because they seem like the only squads who have their shit together and could play well even on a bad night..

The Hurricanes are also looking good.

Unless either of those top 2 teams shoots themselves in the foot, I think we already know who will likely go to the finals.

I'm from Pittsburgh and am really angry at the Penguins right now. Average defense, horrible transition game, and uninspired offense.... With all of that "talent" they should be walking all over their opponents.

That was really the whole purpose of the lockout a few years back...to get more equity, but you're right; this is just ridiculous!  The number 4 team in the Eastern Conference and the last place team are separated by no more than 9 points.

I'd say give the NHL a few more seasons to straighten out all the pre-lockout mega contracts.  After that, with those expiring, more reasonable contracts will make their teams still have some room to sign other players.

^^^^^  I agree but I think it opens up the door for alot of the marquee players to sign 1 or 2 year contracts and then go skate somewhere else. It seems like that has been happening alot in Nashville. I think Legwand and Mason are the only 2 original members of the Predators. The Red Wings are like the Yankee's. God I hate them both.
