ManoloGirl: knowyourself: why the hell do i have to live in stupid europe?!?
Oh Dear God, I just read this post! I would friggin' KILL to have an EU passport and live and work in Florence, has always been and will probably always be my favorite European city Seriously, "knowyourself," take it from this passionate and devoted native Seattleite -- even though Florence wasn't the breeding ground for AIC -- Seattle is a cultural wasteland compared to Firenze!
It is funny you say that about Seattle I have been trying to get there for 15 years. I am finally going this summer YAY!! But you tend to think those things about where you grew up or live cause I say the same thing about Cleveland boring Ohio.

If the DVD doesn't have the AIC peformances, I'd be fairly pissed. XD I feel I Stay Away deserves Pro-Shot treatment for it's live debut, no?

I should have been a little clearer about my comment; I actually love Seattle (and really do miss it since I've now been living in the SF Bay area for 9 years now); it's an amazing place, and you will have a great time -- especially in the summer, which is the only time to really see it. It's just that I'm an art lover, and it's really hard for any other place on earth to compare with Florence. Have fun next summer, Ohio!

Oh I plan on it Thanks. I am actually going around the time the Layne Tribute concert is so I hope to attend that as well. If you can give me any tips on what is cool to do or see around there. I would be deeply grateful. I want to tour the under ground city. That looks pretty neat.

SugarTaste:Grey Goose shots...how perfect for the symphony...lol...I clamor at the bar quite often myself...sounds fun...glad you got to go...I'll post when I hear the DVD is available...it'll be available for a $25 "donation" to the fund...well worth the $$ given the cause, for sure...
(Yes, I was quite the well behaved symphony girl, shooting Grey Goose -- so NOT )...I sent in a donation and request for the DVD within a week of the concert, so hopefully that will be on schedule. Someone else's post here alluded to the possibility that AIC (or at least some of what they did -- I think "I Stay Away") might not be on the DVD. Do you really think that could happen? I can't imagine that, but then again, who knows, right? I think that if Matt Messina has anything to do with the editing (and assuming there aren't any legal -- i.e., AIC -- objections or barriers -- we'll see it all. Let's keep our fingers crossed, shall we?

I did the underground tour when I was a kid (with my grandparents when they came to visit) and it was really cool Also, even though it's really touristy, it's fun to go up in the Space Needle. When I went home on 11/2 for the concert, I went w/my friend from Holland, and she'd never seen Seattle so we went up there. It's a beautiful city, and you get a 360 degree view of it when up there, so it's really cool. I also recommend taking a ferry ride if the weather is nice -- especially since you are from the midwest and will get to experience some very different scenery. People also like to go to the Pike Place Market, but this makes me crazy (the crowds), but it is really kind of cool. Shopping is on 5th, 6th, & 7th Avenues, and it's gotten much better since I moved. Also, are you at least 21? If so, and given that you are an AIC fan, I'd have to recommend clubs like the Crocodile Cafe, the Phoenix Underground, Neumos; you MUST check these places out (I think that Mo's and The Off Ramp -- both of which were really alive in the early 90s - are closed now...sorry, it's been awhile).

Thanks dear and yes unfortunately I am way past 21....30 to be exact. I will be there for a week so I figure I will stay @ a hotel close to everything so I can just walk. I hope to have a good time.

Yeah, let's hope Alice's label doesn't throw a corporate wrench in there somewhere...that would be sad.

(everybody knows my total devotion to him because of the ''for the ladies'' thread!)
anyways, it was really frustrating this summer and fall 'cos they were touring and i couldn't be there! i would have given everything to attend the show with the symphony orchestra! damn the distance! and damn me for being always broke!
 candy heart, what a waste...

SugarTaste - Awesome shots, thanks for posting! I popped in to see if anyone had received their DVD yet -- guess not! :( dobegrrl -- I'll dig up the address when I get home tonight. I'm sure the DVD will be much better quality than the YouTube videos (even though I've watched them too many times to admit to :)), & the $$ is for a great cause. ~WiC
