Los Angeles, CA (Gibson Amphitheater) 12.12.07

    Setlist

    Again
    Grind
    We Die Young
    Them Bones
    Rain When I Die
    Nutshell
    Sickman
    It Ain’t Like That
    Angry Chair
    Man in The Box
    Would?
    Rooster

I dont think i'm missing any and the order should be correct.

Great show, they blew VR off the stage. Tough to follow I know, but VR was sloppy and Scott looked high as a kite. STP songs sucked, I think the only good song was Patience. But then again we left right after that. William Duvall keeps looking more and more comfortable up there every time I see AIC. So that's the long and short of it.

Re: Los Angeles, CA (Gibson Amphitheater) 12.12.07

ok heres the skinny...I flew out from Hawaii to catch Tool (I met justin by the way)at the nokia theatre. I was going to see aic last year but saw tool instead. Anyway I am skimming through a mag and I see that aic is playing on wed and I extend my trip till today in order to see them. So we get the the city walk and and start ordering drinks and then around 8 we enter the venue. The opening band was ok and we had loge seats and security was tight. Aic hits the stage and goes into again. I want to get closer to the stage so I waited for my chance and security walked away to break up a scuffle and I ran down to the front row before the pit. I was twenty fuckin feet from jerry for most of the hour. I was pleasantly suprised to hear sickman make the setlist. Around the begining of Man in the box I walked back to my seat and engoyed would and Rooster. Great night and Im leaving back to warm sunny Kauai, Hawaii in two hours. Thanks A.I.C.!!

Great story!!  So glad you got to see them... very cool that Sickman made the list...

p.s.  Kauai is my favorite place on earth!   I shouldn't be, but I'm jealous that you live there!  Embarrassed  It really is the most beautiful place I've ever seen.  I'd live there in a tent if I could - I wouldn't care!  Wink

Re: Los Angeles, CA (Gibson Amphitheater) 12.12.07

Jerry, Sean, and Mike were amazing as I knew they would be. I got teary eyed during Rooster and Would because I imagined Layne being there. I wish they had played No Excuses and Heaven Beside You, but I'm still really really happy with the setlist.

I'm sorry, I tried giving William DuVall a chance, but I think I'm way too biased and miss Layne too much. William couldn't hit some of the notes and I swear he messed up the lyrics to a couple of songs. If AiC continues to go on the road with him, they might as well chance their name to something else.

Overall it was a show I'll never forget, I never thought I'd get the chance to see Jerry Cantrell and the others perform live. I'm glad I went. :)

p.s- Stayed for maybe three VR songs since I used to love Weiland, but really couldn't stomach the rest.

I want to live on Kauai too!  Went in '04.  It was so beautiful and laid back.  In the 70's, my dad lived in the valley for a year and a half in a hut they'd made.   Congrats to everyone who got to see the show!

    Hey guys,

Some girl went on a rampage on myspace, saying that they played the video for Rooster in the background and they had edited Layne out of the video.

That doesn't even sound right, but I gotta ask, is that true?

I was there in May '04 with my dad for my 30th.  We did it local style and stayed at the uber-fancy Tip Top Motel near the WalMart Smile.  But that left more money for doing fun stuff like boat and helicopter rides.  Sounds like you had a great time too.  Paradise  Travel

Wow, that's funny - I was there first part of June '04.  And even funnier?  I went to that Wal-Mart!

    haha

I much prefer Hawaii (especially Kauai) local style...... I remember landing at the airport there in Lihui and thinking I was stepping into an Elvis movie.. lol

I can't even describe how much I love Kauai.

Awesome, thanks Punky. I knew something wasn't right. I like how she *forgot* to mention Mike S. and Sean being taken out of the video as well. Rolling Eyes

Re: Los Angeles, CA (Gibson Amphitheater) 12.12.07

Thanks for the reviews inure, daniel & dinahlm!  It's a shame VR sucked, I've heard that from everyone.  I guess you and I were lucky Punky as they were on fire in Dallas, don't you agree?  I expect it comes down to the fact that Scott's off the wagon and things are pretty fraught in their camp at the moment with the chance of a prison sentence hanging over his head. muppet!

I also expect the camera gestapo were out with their batons as usual so there'll be no pics WTF is that all about anyway?  I take my camera everywhere here and never get told off - I do only ever take crappy pictures tho

What do you think about the Get Born Again movie?
    Jerry: Yes. It’s fucking horseshit.

Yes, absolutely - I totally agree... I thought VR was really good in Dallas.  I was skeptical, but they were great.

Can't beat being 3 feet away from Duff!  Devil  Slash and Scott were def. "on" that night, too.

    Yes
