    Layne Staley Tribute page

I don't mean to sound like an ass but the header looks really tacky =/ And the page itself seems a little empty. I know you guys are busy so I'm not going to be persistent on this at all, but I had an idea that maybe the fans could help contribute to the page by sending in things like fan art, videos, letters etc so that it could become a lot bigger better. I even started by making a new header =D

    (Border sucks I know =/ )

Although weather or not you choose to use the header or the idea is really up to you I wont hold it against anyone if they say no

I agree, that would be a better header than the one that's up there. Nice work on it.

    Re: Layne Staley Tribute page

Thanks =D Although the focus of the topic isn't meant to be the header just to allow fans to be able to add on and contribute to the tribute page

    Re: Layne Staley Tribute page

I agree with everything said. The page is indeed kinda empty and it would be nice if more things could be added. And that header is SO much better than the current one. And... the guestbook! when is it gonna be up? =)

Great job on the header HiP, and good suggestions for the tribute page. It could definitely use something more.

I like the baner but I think the one there is a better rep of Layne...shows him through the years. I do think the finger needs to be gotten out with things like the guestbook though to be honest. Give the power of moderating it to the board mods so that the inevitable idiots that will post shit slating the band and William etc will be dealt with. No negativity on it, no bullshit. The fan art thing is a real good idea as well..the best I've yet to see is done by my own girlfriend too so I'd like to see em put up!

Good point on the header I didn't think of it like that before I might try make a few alternatives tomorrow if I can. And onto the guestbook that is an excellent point, I've already seen a few Layne tribute/fan sites that have turned more into William DuVall hate sites simply because the fans cant move on =/ Well at least have people assigned to keep the guestbook clean if you don't plan to use current moderators

    Re: Layne Staley Tribute page

The guest book is still in the works. The person who was supposed to be working on it left and then it got buried but we still want to launch it.

We totally understand why people want the Layne page to be interactive/involve the fans more. However, everything on that page has to be approved by higher ups and in the case of the bio, had to be approved by Layne's mom. So that page isn't going to be evolving too much. The only reason we can get away with the guest book is because it'll be moderated and will always have new entries pushing down old entries. We might eventually have an art section (like we have on JerryCantrell.com) and in there *maybe* we could have a Layne section. No promises though...

We did though recently update the Layne page with a new video that the Baldy sent us. It's a 1996 performance of "God Am."

    Re: Layne Staley Tribute page

Ok well then if everything needs to be approved by higher ups then that makes sense it would just make those people have to do alot more work. And one question about the videos whenever I try play them it says I need some kind of license to play them, where can I get that from?

    Re: Layne Staley Tribute page

Hey lindsay.  I was just watching a video on youtube of the the band playing nutshell at a show this past summer.  The first ting that pops into my head when i hea rit is I wish Layne could be here sining it again.  It'd be a cool move on the bands part if they put up a big picture of Layne on the big screen or wherever when they play nutshell live.  Im just throwing out a suggestion but I doubt it'll ever happen.  I don't really see a reason not to though.

    Re: Layne Staley Tribute page

I agree with you jdre. Especially with nutshell being such a personal song... I wish they didn't have to play it anymore, it hurts. But ah well.
