    Re: the grunge/hair metal split

I actually like some hair metal stuff myself. It was shallow and silly, but I, even though I was very young in the 80's, remember that decade quite fondly. Well, except for the hair....I don't know how that was ever a good idea to poof it out like that. Ugh. I'm going to see Motley Crue this summer and I'm totally stoked about it, though Vince Neil certainly isn't what he once was. Hopefully he'll be sober enough to remember that he has to perform on stage. =) Anyway, I think it's good to keep an open mind about it. You have to remember that the whole time period was sort of filled with cheesy, and that these musicians you think you wouldnt like actually helped metal become more widespread. Horribly cheesy, yes. But fun, nonetheless. And quite frankly, if I remember correctly, Alice got their start as a hair metal band (so did Pantera and let me tell you, they sound absolutely ridiculous. lol). And just because a guy is in a more serious grunge band does NOT mean he is not a womanizer. lol. =)
