naturegirl: ....I think AIC is gonna be stuck singing "the old songs" for the rest of their career....cuz people want to hear them live, even without Layne...cuz people want to sing along loudly to songs they are familiar with.....
....and those new people who are just finding out about AIC, discover Layne when they buy all the cds.....anyone who loves the music, never stops at buying just one cd......they gotta have all of them.....
I agree that AIC will always perform their classics. Those songs are what made fans love them today. Of course, there's no choice in the matter as far as who will be singing them.
As far as the new people who are just finding out about AIC; will they discover Layne when they buy cds? Well, you'd think so. If they like the band enough to go back and purchase the older stuff. Not all the future NEW fans know or care about the shows right now. The fans on this board are at a different level of enjoyment than, say, the 'regular' fans that listen to music and like a song or two from a band they hear on the radio......Some OLD fans don't even know that Layne died. I know how stupid that sounds; but I know several people who are interested in AIC but have no clue who is singing, what the band names are, or what is going on with the group. They could care less. And these are the fans who will decide the fate for most bands. They are the ones who will "sell out" shows in the thousands and purchase maybe l or 2 cds that will take the band over the edge (or not) in sales. There's a difference between the world "here" and the world out there.....
