I think I know the problem. You have to go into your profile and under the Favorites tab, click off the "Share Favorite Users" box that appears above your list of favorite users. Then give it a few minutes and your favorite users should appear listed under the "Friends" section on your profile page, which you can view by clicking on your name wherever it appears on the board.
