    The Smashing Pumpkins Anyone?

They're in my top five favourite bands of all time. One of the greatest bands from the '90's. Who else likes them?

::raises hand:: They're my all-time favorite band. Then AIC, then Pearl jam, Soundgarden, Seether
I can't wait for them to release the new music already. Billy and Jimmy are going to come out and show all these bland bands how it's done :D

Seether was a bit of an anti-climax ;)
Thankyou very much, and can I borrow 50 bucks?

Sorry, haha. I know that they're newer, but to be honest they were the first band  since thsoe mentioned bands to actually grab me and make an impact, hence why I listed them. :)

Seether fits in with all those other post-grunge bands...Bush, Creed, Puddle of Mudd, Seether, etc. They're way better tho than any of those other bands. Oh and Smashing Pumpkins kick ass. 1979 was in Clerks II when I saw it this weekend. Such a great song.

The newness of the band doesn't really bother me. If you like Seether I don't have a problem with that, its your opinion but I cant stand em

I've really gotta get my ass to a theatre to see that movie already. I think all of those other post grunge bands you mentioned are great too...Bush kinda went downhill though.

I bought their greatest hits ... ( never really a fan of GH albums) thought Id get a general impression of the pumpkins.

Never got into them though .... so I'll pass.

    Pumpkins rule!

With them "reuniting" we'll be hearing more about them, I'm sure.

And Seether rules.  They have a new live album out, as well.

Go listen to #8 on the Greatest Hits. If that don't hook you, then the pumpkins are not for you.

LONG LIVE BILLY CORGAN!!!  I simply cannot wait for the new stuff.  Although Zwan was a little too preachy, it was still Pumpkins as far as i'm concerened.  Just like any band with Eddie Vedder would still be Pearl Jam, anything that the driving force behind any band puts out never strays too far from what the diehards truly love.

Oh and RAW, NEVER judge a band by their greatest hits.  The songs the mainstream puts out usually blow anyway.  I never bought the greatest hits package ( so I had to look up what track 8 was Tongue out ), despise them.  Believe me, there are WAY better songs than what is on that disc.  You really want some good Pumpkins, pick up a copy of Siamese Dream before you brush off these icons of "True Rock"!

You know, I've still yet to see a band put on a show as long as they do. I remember when I saw them in '96 on the MCIS tour, they hit the stage at 9, and the show wasn't done till almost 1am. They only took two very short intermissions and they were later in the set. I've yet to see a band put on a marathon show like they did.
