    Kerrang Top 100

Firsty , sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Secondly, I was wondering if anybody has seen this? It's Kerrangs Top 100 Rock Band list that I've just caught a glimpse of on telly. So I googled it and here's the list...

Honestly, I know it's only a list, but I'm in disbelief. How are these people allowed to run their own TV channel & music magazine? I'm guessing who ever wrote it lives in an Afghan mountain with a goat & really has never even heard music before, that's my only explanation.

    Re: Kerrang Top 100

I was just watching it on Sky. It is a bit of a mess for sure. I think they just took a few early votes and compiled it very quickly. Or maybe they just picked the numbers out of a hat. AIC did get their own intro from the voiceover guy though. He said "You guys love your Grunge! At 66 it's the second biggest band to come out of Seattle..." There was a quote from a fan written at the beginning of each band's video. Would had a quote from a guy called Josh who said Layne had one of the best Rock 'n' Roll voices of all time. Right after AIC was Pantera with I'm Broken i.e. Phil Anselmo jumping around like a nutter. I can see why his back became so fucked up!

Actually, as a resident of the UK this is the first list (on any subject) I have ever seen which doesn't have OK Computer and The Bends on it.

    Re: Kerrang Top 100

It's a good job they didn't say the second best band to come out of Seattle, I hate the way Nirvana's always at the forefront of everything when it comes to Seattle bands. They were the worst out of the main 4.

That's a matter of opinion. Neutral It's not mine though.

Soundgarden aren't even on the list which is crazy. No

    Re: Kerrang Top 100

Whether it's Kerrang or Rolling Stone, if there's money to be made, they will continue to forcefeed the shitty bands on to the masses. (pretty redundant, since the shitty bands are already popular)

I can't believe how those people sleep at night, bunch of corporate whores the lot of 'em.

Actually , Pearl Jam have sold more records in the US than Nirvana so they are the biggest!

    Re: Kerrang Top 100

Having My Chemical Romance listed as a "rock band" at all is a stretch...much less #1.  Is this some kind of emo boy music magazine?  I've never even seen it.

    Re: Kerrang Top 100

Oh man, that list is appalling.

I used to get that magazine every week, but then was when it was still respectable. Now it's normally filled with emo and scene bands. I know they have to keep up with what's popular to sell their magazine, but they lowered their standards so much.
