    Jerry's Best Vocals

I'm not sure if there's already an existing thread for this (if there is, then the mods can delete this).

But anyway, in his own right, Jerry's a great singer himself. I just love him in the quiet and heartfelt numbers like "Don't Follow," "Over Now," and "Satisfy."

    Re: Jerry's Best Vocals

Absolutely agree with all of the above, especially Don't Follow and Would?  But, just to add a few more, I also love Jerry's vocals in Heaven Beside You and Grind.  You are correct, we shouldn't forget that Jerry is a fantastic vocalist in his own right.  Thanks for this thread!

What the hell have I, Grind, Over Now, No Excuses, I Know Something,  and I can't help but think that the eerie harmonizing on Them Bones wouldn't be there without Jerry's vocals contrasting with Layne's.  Jerry sings on a lot more AIC material than I thought.

    Re: Jerry's Best Vocals

My son told me at a young age that Jerry's voice sounds like an angel.   Angel  So I think about that comment almost everytime I hear him sing.

The acapella portion of "Brother" in Unplugged brings tears to my eyes.

And Deg. Trip and Boggy move me more than any other music created.  So hauntingly beautiful and perfect.

Jerry, if you ever do read the negative CRAP recently posted on this "fan" forum--I hope you see this too--Your music has changed my life forever!  THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!!  Broken Heart

    Re: Jerry's Best Vocals

Don't Follow is great, I'd say it's Jerry's best singing with AIC, and Grind and Would are excellent examples of a Jerry's smooth lead in going to Layne's unique vocal style.

His voice really is great, I wouldn't mind at all if he himself just did the vocals for new AIC (sorta like Pink Floyd after Waters, when Gilmour just took over... for the most part that was still really great music, even if it didn't have exactly the same edge). My Song and Cold Piece are probably his best singing on his first album, while 31/32 is amazing on Degradation Trip... I like to compare it to River of Deceit to show what each AIC singer can do on their own...

    Would

    Heaven beside you

    Grind

    No Excuses

    Down in a Hole

Jerry has a beautiful voice, very angelical and harmonic, both Layne and Jerry did a fantastic couple of voices in every song.

Love you Jerry Broken Heart muack!

    Broken Heart

Whenever, I heard "Grind" I picture Jerry with blue lightning all over him thanks to the 2006 tour.
