    The Doors (of Perception)

The Doors, a band that helped change the tone of music in the late '60's and on.

Unfortunatley, most people only know Jim Morrison as a member. Even though Morrison was an incredible writer that had unimaginable thoughts, their guitarist Robby Krieger helped keep The Doors in their later years. Many Doors listeners don't realize that a handful of the hits, were written by Robby.

Without a doubt however, Jim Morrison will never be forgotten. He is a legend.

The Doors were my favorite band before AIC.  There's just something very unique, compelling, and dramatic about their music.  I remember finding the L.A. Woman album in my dad's closet as a kid and standing with mouth agape over my record player as I first heard Texas Radio and the Big Beat.....

I also played The End and When the Muisc's Over on every juke box of every establishment when I was younger.....not only did it get everyone's attention, it was 22 minutes of music for fifty cents!

A love for The Doors runs in my family. My dad has always loved The Doors, and I hold The Doors very high in my book. They are one of my top favorite bands of all time. I have read a few books on Jim Morrison. There was something about him that can't be touched, even though he was a little crazy. That comes with it though.

Hiya oh god the perfect band, with the perfect make up for a rock band great looking, sex god that was jim morrison. The hippy trippy sound, sex, drugs, rock and roll then the young death at 27 of this man who i has been my idol for much of my musical life.

The first doors song i heard was break on throu then purchased the doors then strange days and then my favourite album morrison hotel, maggie mcgill oh i love it. I have now got most of the albums i can but some i cannot which make me mad but i have to come to terms with this.

I have seen the 20th century doors/riders on the storm twice and the new lead singer is fantasic he does the job amazing!! i love the doors and i always will.

I used to listen to the doors all day every day. Now am not such a huge fan anymore. Got pretty tired of them. Some songs remain amazing though, for instance 'L.A. Woman'

I like the Doors, but dont think Jim was all that special.  No more than any other artist. As Philip Seymour Hoffman said in Almost Famous, he was drunken baffoon posing as a poet.  Roadhouse blues is one of my favorite songs.  Great, bluesy riff, and Powerful vocals by Jimmy.

I love the Doors, great unique music. You can tell where Layne got part of his vocal inspiration from Jim Morrison.
