    Guns N' Roses

Killing 2 birds, with one stone..as, I also got to try out the poll..

anyways..the only other band that cant stand beside Alice in Chains as my #1 band..

How surprised was I, as around the same time, both of my favorite bands decide to go back on tour..fuckin' great..

Yes, I do prefer the Old Guns..but, you take what you can get..

Favorite record will always be "AFD."

been a fan since since real little..imagine a baby listening to that stuff..HA!!!

a band, that I can say has been with me since the cradle, and will go with me to the grave..

All I can think to say..

    Discuss..

    Re: Guns N' Roses

I'm a HUGE old school GN'R fan - HUGE. But when it comes down to this nu-GN'R garbage, all it makes Axl seem is an egotistical little man who is desperate to erase his past. He causes a stink over nothing (demanding a roast dinner before a show recently is absurd) and is too much of a drama queen. We have all been waiting way too long for this Chinese Democracy project to appear - and honestly, Axl can keep it to himself. I've had way more than enough!

But I love love love old school GN'R - there's nothing more honest and real than Slash's guitar singing along to the music, or Duff's punky basslines or Izzy's songwriting.

What are some of your favorite songs?

    Re: Guns N' Roses

It'd be easier for me to choose songs I dont like, then to get all the ones I do like shortned to a small list..I like them all so much..

They played another surprise accoustic gig tonight!!!

they invited some select fans from the wembley gig, to a small club..

theres a rumor they may have played a new song, but not sure yet..

Izzy diddnt come to the small club show with the rest of the band though, as far as I know..

I really like their new song IRS. It's pretty damn good. My favorite new song is "Better". It sounds like classic GNR with a new milleniums twist on it.

    Re: Guns N' Roses

GNR isn't bad.  Definitely not one of my favorites but it makes excellent hard rock background noise.  The stuff with the old lineup was definitely the best material, but I did like the new GNR with Buckethead, that was pretty cool.

Oh cmon GNR is one of the best bands to come out of the late 80's early 90's. Them and Metallica are the big 2. Not to forget that GNR fever will last forever.

    Re: Guns N' Roses

I think GNR are good, but overrated. One of my favourite albums is Appetite For Destruction, but IMO, the band became just another generic hard rock band with the huge backing orchestras and cheesy stage antics, ...

I think they should have stayed more with that punk/hard rock sound of their first .album

    Re: Guns N' Roses

There was a time when GNR was the biggest baddest band in the world. Then Axl decided to wear spandex short shorts. What the hell was that?? All downhill from there. They could've been one of the greatest all time bands. Now they are just a band you reminisce about. What a shame. Loved Appetite. Use Your Illusion 1&2 are good too (would have been great had they edited them into 1 album). They had a PPV from Paris in 92 where they were supposed to play Locomotive with Jeff Beck. He pulled out at the last minute (due to a problem with his hands) so they didn't play it. Wish they would have.

Too bad Axl went all prima donna. What a waste of talent.

I'd like to fly but my wings have been so denied.

    Re: Guns N' Roses

I just got the GNR Rock Am Ring DVD and I gotta say I'm impressed. The band sounds damn good. I like Slash and all, but I'm not gonna have a shit over him not being there. I think that the real unit of GNR was Axl and Izzy. Afterall, Izzy wrote a good majority of the song structures. Slash just added leads. I think it's kind of funny that Axl replaced one unk bassist with another. I like Robin Finck, and he pulls off Slash's leads just find, but he needs to work on his own lead playing a little.

Only like the old school G 'n R I grew up on, all the new shit is a waste of time.
