    Staind

Really great Boston Band. They've been around for a little over ten years, onto there fifth album, still going strong. I think for the most part they've shown huge development as a band. Er, well, minus out that 14 Shades Of Grey album, it was kinda too folky. With there new album Chapter V they pretty much went back to there old sound, thankfully. Really great live band. Aaron is hugely AIC influenced.
I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but if you go to any Clear Channel Radio station website they have this series called 'Stripped' and every month theres a different band/artist that does there songs stripped down acoustically. Staind was the first band to in this series. They did a cover of 'Nutshell' which Aron has been doing for a long time solo acoustically.
I'm seeing the band again in September. They're playing this 10,000 seat arena. It's funny to see them go from playing in a dink ass club to six people, to places that big and beyond.

as for staind, i really like their album 'dysfunction'  but everything after that for me personally was too dull and redundant sounding

I know ppl havent posted in this for awhile but....i just gotta say Staind fricken rocks! I love their older stuff especially Tormented and dysfuction but their newer stuff is pretty darn good too :) I agree their cover of nutshell is amazing. Aaron lewis is another one of my heros...including Layne :) Im going to be seeing them for the 3 time now in september. To me they are even better live.

And just in case anyone wanted to know that didnt know...staind is releasing a Greatest Hits album due out on Nov. 14

Yea, I think that this Greatest Hits/New Unplugged disc that they're going to release is a sign of there end. Especially since Aaron is apparently going solo after it's release :(

He's already getting ready to book a tour with his guitar tech. It's going to be all acoustic. I guess him playing guitar again spelt the end of that band because he remembered how much he liked it. I remember the first time I saw Staind...opening for Eminem...neither had blown up big. Barely anyone there. What's amazing is that Aaron sells better live than Staind does.  In January I saw Velvet Revolver at this big arena...the whole top balcony was empty and the mid balcony was barely sold as well. Later that month I saw Aaron solo acoustic there...that show was completly sold out. I'm seeing Staind at that same venue this month on the 27th...the show still isn't sold out...

I always found them pretty boring...alth when I was a younglad i liked their Break The Cycle album...now though,in cmparison with the other stuff I listen to...nah,cant compare.Sure he's an AiC fan but still. One of those bands I'd catagorise with Nickelback,Godsmack etc...boring radio rock.
